Buell is Harley :hmm:

Correction would be Buell was Harley, and in reality was only funded by Harley. Eric Buell's bikes don't really fit Harley product or performance wise which IMO is why they shut production down. Harley owned MV Agusta too, but after a buyout which is a little different. You still wouldnt call MV Agusta a Harley.

Erik Buell had a partnership with Harley to produce the bikes. Eventually it became wholle owed by Harley. The bikes are built around the Harley sportster engines. It's like saying Eagle Talons aren't Mitsu Eclipses.

I have owned the following:

97 katana 600 Sold
92 katana 750 Gave away (parts bike)
94 zx9 Flooded
05 zx12 Sold with only 2100 miles on the clock in 09

Anyone haver a katana? Im looking into getting one...any input on them?

They are great bikes but they are air cool keep that in mind no idling in traffic for too long. Also buy a used one you will likely grow out of it with in a year or two and want something bigger. With the length and weight they are not good for stunting if thats what you were looking for. I only got one good and really scary wheelie out of my Kat 6. I was toying around with a guy I knew at college ( funny thing is he had a 96 tsi awd and I lined up with him).
Smoked him out the hole (literally) I popped a wheelie while still spinning the rear tire talk about scary fish tailing in a wheelie. The wheelie was unintended I wanted to dog him out the hole was all.

That was my last wheelie, just so you all know I do not stunt just cruise.

I can only ride touring bikes the only I owned that was not a touring bike was the zx9 I have tried f4i's zx10's zx6's( I can ride some of the early 90's ones) r1's r6's and can not ride them they are too crampe dfor me to ride. I am 6' and weight 260lbs

ive had an sv1k for a few years now but am trying to sell it. its like an all season tire, it just doesnt do anything very well. too big and heavy with underwhelming suspension and brakes to track well, more comfortable than a super sport but not comfortable enough to tour, too big and wrong engine style to stunt. its fun on the streets and canyon runs but im just getting bored of it.

That rusted shell isnt a ducati. That looks like a ### frame. Seems everyone has a ### bike. I no longer own my dsm thats why i no longer also own a r6. I now have a ducati 996 as seen in the matrix.

Buell was wholly owned by Harley:
http://www.buell.com/en_us/company/news/detail.asp?news_id=1497

Buell bikes largely shared the sportster powertrain until 2007 with the introduction of the Rotax series motor (and the Blast, which was an earlier single-cylinder model).

The analogy between MV and Buell breaks down quickly. Buell was a harley sportbike, period. That being said, they had tons of torque and are fun to ride, but they are harleys at heart.

Wow am I the only one who owns a cruiser?

2007 Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic. Pretty much looks like this, except I've got bags, a sissy bar for my wife, and a small windshield:
