ok so my clutch is really bad now...feels like it's slipping all the time now. I don't really have alot of money to do a performance clutch right now...so if I do a stock clutch replacement...how long do you guys think the stock clutch will last with a setup like mine? Running an Evo3 16g with about 10 to 15 ilbs of boost.

Also quick question...would a slipping clutch keep the car from bulding boost aswell? Feel like I get almost no boost now and wondering if it could also have a boost leak...or if it's just because of the clutch..

lastly...i think I will probably have to replace the flywheel too...would it be ok to put a lightweight flywheel on with a stock clutch?

thanx.

David

I was in your boat a few months ago. I would say replace it asap, seriously. Mine was dragging so bad it starts to slip at 2.5k all the way. And my car was stock except for an injen intake. Yours have a 16g. That's even more work for the clutch.
I thought it was no big issue and when I replaced it with the act 2100. My stock clutch disk was so ate up. It was almost to the metal. Next would of been scratching the fly wheel.

I really recommend you not to do any adjusting with the master cylinder. And yes when the clutch is slipping you will build boost but the car won't be going anywhere.
Lighten fly wheel on a stock clutch. I don't know about dsm but honda's do it every time. My brothers are running one on their civic for over a few years and no problem yet.

there is no question that I am going to replace it, I plan to do it either this weekend or early next week. But I just wanted to know how long I can expect a stock clutch to hold up to this setup under normal daily driver conditions.

Will I guess it depends on how much you punch it. I would guess- ti- mate @20k- 40k miles. Not 100% sure, I'm just throwing out some numbers from my experience!

Well, the pressure plate is the real "holding force" behind any clutch. If I were you I would borrow the money and order the right parts first. It always seems to workout better when u do it right and buy the correct parts for the way u drive and your HP level! Install the new set up and be done with that part of tranny work. The competition clutch works really good for me. Its the stage 2 and I havent had any problems yet.
