Is anyone running a HX40 with the stock 19cm2 housing? I know a couple guys one here plan on doing this but haven't finished their setups yet. I'm considering it, just thinking it may be a task to get this bad boy to spool. If I do I plan on building a divided topmount for it, hoping that will help spool time out.
Chime in with your thoughts and setups.

I just recieved my HX40 and I was thinking the same thing. Im putting this on my 2.3l. I was thinking the .70 a/r housing would choke the engine out on the top end. I have been searching the forums and haven't seen anyone try it yet.

Have you seen how f-in' big the .70 BEP housing is in person? If so, these words never would've left your face. :D

I 19cm^2 housing it enormous, it is probably equivalent to something like a 1.22 Garrett T4 and not matter what manifold you use there WILL immense lag on a 2.0L engine.

The most I'd be willing to go for is a 16cm^2 and/or a BEP T3 .70. PM me is your interested in the BEP T3 w/ manifold and v-band downpipe.

I'm currently planning to run a 21 cm^2 T3 housing on my car. Non-wastegated, with a 3" V-band welded on the outlet. The manifold is a custom made truly divided (2 Tial 38mm wastegates) top mount. My friend and I will begin welding tomorrow, wish me luck. I'll be sure to post on here when I have it on the car with results.

Is the 19cm housing T3- or T4-flanged? I have (2) 16cm HX40 housings at my shop....both are divided T3.

Mine is a divided t4. How much are you looking to sell the 16cm2 for? PM me if you want.

I don't remember if the housing on my turbo is an 18cm^2 or 19cm^2 but I know for a fact it's one of the two. My previous setup was an scm6152 turbo with a .63 mitsu flanged housing and a ported 2g mani and I upgraded to an Hx40 pro with a divided T4 hotside and divided t4 mani and the spool time is very similar to my old setup even with the much larger turbo, housing, and manifold. I was skeptical at first, but twin-scroll tech seems to work. My old turbo felt like an on/off switch. The car felt gutless until around 4k with the old turbo and then it would spool all of a sudden. The powerband with the divided t4 hx40 setup feels much more smooth and boost comes on gradually until about 4k and then slams you back in your seat. The part-throttle response and the over-all "fun to drive" factor of my car is great with the ts setup. First gear is so short that I don't make much boost or power but second and third gear are a wiiild ride. Top end is insane. If I was using a 2.0 engine I probably would have tried for more middle ground with a twin scroll t3 manifold and divided 16cm^2 housing but I'm still very happy with the spool and power of this turbo setup even on low boost and pump gas. With race gas and 40psi I think she could make 700+hp to the wheels. :D

Has anyone else finished up their 19cm2 ts housing builds?

My manifold is complete on my 21 TS build, and only needs a few more small parts to get running again. However, I am out of the country and will be until Christmastime; hopefully I can finish the build then and get the car running. You can read about the manifold and see some pictures of it here.

Nice can't wait to see your results!

My 19cm2 T4 twin scroll housing build is mostly done and running. I've been working 6 days a week so I've had no time to finish things up and tune it. First impressions are great though. As soon as I get a chance to finish the conversion to speed density and get a new clutch master cylinder I will get some logs posted. Spool-up seems around the t3 BEP housing from the little driving I have done with the new setup.

Just wondering if anyone has finished their build and results? Unfortunately I didn't finish mine over Christmas break, although I did get a lot done. I still have a few leaks and clearance issues holding me back from running the car. It'll have to sit until summer time to be completely finished. I have updated that thread I posted earlier with pictures.

I'm still curious to see if anyone has finished their 19cm^2 housing hx-40 build and has actually pushed it to see what kind of numbers they can make with it. My build is on the back burner right now til some other things fall into place and I would really like to hear some results if anyone has pushed this type of setup.

I know some of you have done this, does anyone have any dyno results, videos, reviews or anything of the like they could share with us?

My build is done. Getting 23 psi at about 5000 rpm on a 21 cm^2 housing and a custom twin scroll manifold. You can see pictures of the build here.

Ok so that's what I received today with my Hx40 a t4 19cm housing. I had never heard of this til now anyone wanna trade me for a bep housing or t3? Anyone have either one for sale?
