well as the title says i am just finally getting into dsm's. buying one this week for my wife, a 99 eclipse gs. been a car guy all my life, currently vehicle maintenance in the USAF. grew up old school muscle, used to drag race a 68 camaro for a neighbor. been in the tuner crowd since 2004 when i rode in a buddies 97 gs on the autoX track. otherwise this will be my 9th car since i got my license at 16 (currently 21).

here's my list of cars from my past
1995 honda civic ex
1996 honda civic dx
1994 toyota supra
2003 chevy silverado z71
1999 infiniti g20
2002 pontiac firebird trans am WS6
1987 honda civic
1992 honda civic

all the cars have been sold off except for the 87 civic which i managed to seize the motor up on since i just owned it to beat the living hell out of. and the 92 civic i'm driving for now as a dd, the car was riced out 2 owners ago and i'm working on taking it back to stock.

just thought i'd join up to extend my knowledge of cars, and to learn the mysterious world of dsm's.

Thanks,
--Brett

doesn't look like you grew up old school muscle. just basing this off of your car list.

i know a lot of people who grew up old school and stuck with their heritage, because they know displacement means torque which equals power which all means you don't go to a honda. just looks like you enjoy honda's which we all know have no potential, have no cool factor, and certainly not a car for a car guy.

these cars are not mysterious, their just a car, and with the proper owner and knowledge, their scary little b*stards, that many car guys fear. which you should of held out for a gsx.

now post some pics, of your past and present rides.

Exactly.. 420a for wife.. 4g63 for husband.. thats the way to do it LOL.. and a 94 supra? WTF why didnt you keep it.. they have lots of potential?!?! Just a word of precaution..

Honda is the devil here XD

unless supra wasnt a turbo. so expensive so heavy. nice luxury car.
Try to find a GSX for sure or the Talon TSI AWD, which I think the Talon is even cheaper on insurance if that is a factor

Suuuuuure, stick the wife with the one that is, imo, harder to work on.

I'm going to start a "buy your wife a 4g63" revolution :thumb:

welcome! yea a turbo dsm would have been a better choice, but it is for the wife. so 420a is the way to go. :p

guess i got the wrong type of woman.

i bought her a WS6. because i broke her old one.

and yes, i know it needs dropped.

So I take it the red one was the 2002? The black one has the 98-00 rims. Why did you sell the T/A and the Supra? She's not going to like going from a WS6 to a GS Eclipse... I know I wouldn't. I'd get at least a GST. Anyway, best of luck to you and your Eclipse. The gas mileage should be good in the GS.

Hey if your Wife is anything like mine. She Could us a 4g63. I let her drive my gsx, and she surprised the crap out of me. She know how to run a it. If she can drive buy her a 4g63 if she can't 420A

Welcome to your newest addiction. DSM are fast and I love the ones I've owned. But be prepared to either be a mechanic or have a fat wallet. =)

i had a 2000 integra and i have to say it was more fun to drive than my Talon but it had no where near as much power as my talon. and ive seen some dirty honda's. either way you will enjoy your DSM. Welcom to the community.

I had a del sol si back in the day. Honda make good gas savers. I miss the del sol. But wouldn't roll another Honda.

MY other car is old school muscle...1966 SS396 Chevelle 550 HP, 4 speed, 4.10 gears with positraction...doesn't get more old school than that...

hmm.. are you talking to me? or to the other dude?

the pictures of the WS6's are mine, well the black one is my wife's and the red one is her old one.

the rims on the red one are true z06 wheels, and they both are 2000's.
