idk man, I know I am strapped for cash with my build but I wouldn't get my valve and lifter set up off of ebay.

get some topline, that the cheapest you will get, oem is like 30 a lifter.

I wouldn't buy it just my .02

oh yea I would love to hear some feedback if anyone else reads this post and has used these valves guides and lifters.

goodluck

I used this same kit when i did my head rebuild , and had no issues so far. seemed to be good quality. Machine shop said they were pretty good quality when they installed the set up.

Looks like a fair deal to me...although I am new to DSM's....been working on cars for close to 30 years....have owned more musclecars than I care to count...

just because it is ebay doesn't mean it isn't good.

I can buy say hks cams and then never use them and sell them on ebay. Are you say you wouldn't buy them because it is ebay?

personally, i just heard bad things about ebay parts for our cars.. But i do kno people have good luck with the ebay lifters. yet id still go with the topline

edit: ebay items MADE from ebay. not ebay sellers selling brand parts

I just wanted to get the kit because when you order these 3 parts separate it is $257.80 but when you buy the kit it cuts the price down to $211.60.

so you save $46.20

and the lifters are $79.90 by themselves

you save quite a bit and I mean if you read the description the lifters don't sound bad.

anyways are bronze valve guides good?

Everyone has there own opinion on valve guides. i personally like the bronze guides. i would get the set u probably wont be sorry.

Many members here some wisemen and moderators included have gone with that guys kit and had nothing but good things to say. If you need it don't be scared.

Standard is fine unless you are building a full race motor.

I have that exact kit with standard size valves. I was very impressed with the quality when it showed up and with the reviews from other DSMers on them.

I would absolutely buy them again. If you google reviews for "EPN valves dsm" you should come across the reviews I did. Engnbldr (Ted) is a good guy.

When you buy a gasket set they usually come with the set. i bought a felpro set and they where included.

Engnbldr is a good guy, I have installed 30 or so sets of his 4g stainless valves, and I can not tell you how many sets of SBC, SBF and Ford 2300 sets I have installed, I have a set in my turbo Ranger right now...

I doubt you really need the bronze guides, if you change guides you will have to have the seats cut to index the center line of the guide to the seat, so if your going to do that, get the +1mm valves, they may not be needed, but some of the local guys I have installed them for , have said they have felt a diffrence with the "Butt Dyno"

BTW Engnbldr, is a over run buyer, so the 3mm HLAs could as well be the same ones as topline, parts dino sell.

If topline ordered 20,000 4g lifters, the factory would make 25,000 lifters, then say about 2000 did not pass inspection, they get recycled/trashed and EngBldr would buy the over run at a discounted price

Aww, now I wish I bought +1s. Oh well, next build LOL

Yea, everyone says that 80% of the quality of rebuild work that gets done depends on the machinist.

well it also helps if the machinist that installs the valves knows a trick or 3! ;)

Noted! I have faith in the shop I go to, so I guess we'll see!

I have found buying stationary parts off eBay to be ok. I got a MLS HG set and it blew in a week.

I have this kit in my 2G, 1mm oversize and has worked for my set up. I have them on dual valve springs and run 30 psi on E85. Engine revs to 8000 rpm constantly on comp cams 101200 with no problem. Also machine shop I took it too confirmed that they were good quality. I would buy this kit again.
