As long as you have upgraded your fuel pump and put in AFPR. Other than that It's sounds like a good build.

Thanks for the fast reply! I've just started building this car. I think I'm going to concentrate on the engine then work my way back. Any information is great, this is my first DSM. Thanks

Do not use crower springs for that big of a cam. There is some threads already about how thise springs are basicaly the same spring pressure as stock and they might fail with that huge of a cam.

If you are upgrading the injectors to 650, might as well go 1600's if you are using DSMLINK. That way you will not run out of injector if you decide to up the boost or run E85.

If you're going to be using a 35R, you should definitely be using larger injectors. As it stands, you'll most likely be maxing out the IDC's and have no room to grow. Since you're using Link, buying bigger injectors from the get go is ALWAYS recommended.

a lot has happened since my last post. I bought a 96 Talon AWD with E85 pump and steal braided fuel lines. It also has a full Apex 3inch exhaust, and racing wheels and suspension. I've upgraded to the 1600 injectors and a HKS T4 turbo. I have to get more information on the head, it has something with the head gasket so it has steal rings for the gasket and super upped springs and retainers.{I will get the information on the springs and retainers} We also stepped up the cam to 280. The shop thats building my engine is called Showdown Racing out of Ohio. The owner is really cool. He even opened his shop so I could come down on Sunday to check things out. If you ever need work done and your in the Ohio area, I highly recommend this shop!!

What do you guys think about the upgrades?

Update: the head is called a steal o-ring head. It has kiggly beehive springs and retainers. The car also has big brake upgrade with 2 piston brakes. It also has really good port and polish job.

Sounds like it's going to be a bad ace build.

Question: What E85 pump do you have?

Have you considered running two pumps as of yet and upgrading the tank to rail lines to #6AN or #8AN?

Yeah I'll get some pics when they send them to me. They send updates with pics, as their building it. As for the pump, I'm not sure what kind is in there. I ended up buying the car from Showdown racing who's building the engine. They said I would need to get another pump for it to push the 1600 injectors. I also bought a 2g eclipse front and back bumper for it. I'm going to leave the sideskirts from the talon, I think the look a lot better. I'm going to head back up to Toledo, Oh this week at some point to pick up the Talon, so at that point I'll post pics of the car.

Well I got my car from Toledo. It's in ruff shape, but has some potential. Heres some pics. I have a eclipse from and back bumper for it. I'm going to paint the car smoke gray with carbon fiber hood!

It's 0.02 over and Eagle H-rod rods and Wiseco piston is good enough. As for the springs and retainers do not go the cheap way. Go for Ferrea, FP, Kiggly, HKS or Supertech. Kelford 272 require good shit.

you need use a head gasket aftermarket like a mls o cometic for have more safe your engine
regards

Yes, I forget what the gasket is called there using. I will find out the name, but it was 250$ for it. I think it has steal o-rings, to go with that head I bought. Is this what your referring to?

These cars are easy to get overwhelmed with. It's a good thing that the shop is putting it all together for you for a first build, however it raises a question for me. Will you know what to do, adjust, look for or wrench on when trying to tune, mod or maintain the car? Pretty serious build if you don't know what you're getting into. Good luck though man, seems like it's comming together nicely anyhow!

Sorry for the long delay. I finally got my long block in. It is pretty sweet!! went with Kelford 280 cams with kiggly springs. I will post pics tomorrow. I have a coouple questions. What kind of turbo does everyone think I should run. I want 600+ horse, if not more. Do you think the gt35r will push that?

SpawnedX.. Don't worry about me burning out. I GOT THIS!

The body is about go in the paint shop. I took the wing of and the rear wiper, had it all smoothed out. I'm going with a smoked graphite, going to look pretty sick. I'll post pics. Let me know what yo guys are thinking.

Stay with your original choice the 35r is an excellent turbo. Fast spool because its ball bearing and capable of 500+ hp. Just imagine how long a full t4 would take to spool.

I think thats what I'm going to do, i'll just stay with gt35r. Who's the best manufacture?
