Nice pickup truck motor :p . Pull an hx35 off a cummins diesel pickup and put it into a ram d50 pickup. Love it.

what's the record for hx40 w/ the bep .55 a/r housing? i know talondave made a 10.39 with the bigger housing but has anyone made numbers like that for the smaller housing?

kp116 went 10.8 @ 135 or so with the bolton and close to stock weight I believe.

I got my holset return line off of a cummins forum. I then modified it to fit the way I needed it to. I have a picture in the oil return line thread. Its probably not what you are looking for, but it will give you an idea of what you need to do. If I had access to a welder, I would have made mine all steel

Well here is basically my finished setup.

FP Race Manifold
BEP .55AR housing
punishment racing MVS o2 housing
Dejon tool 4" intake
K&N 4" filter
-4 oil feed
-12 push fit drain

I sprayed the manifold and turbine housing in vht ceramic paint to prevent rusting on the manifold and to make the parts match. The compressor was sprayed with vht enamel. I'm very happy with how the Dejon pipe is.

Hopefully I won't have issues with the filter. It seems way small but it's the 4" one that fits the pipe. I'd have liked to get the longer one you FP intake guys use however but it's way too long.

Yep, as dsmonster said I recently went 10.86 @ 130mph and my highest mph last year with the stock intake was 134.6mph.

I stumble across this small looking H1E(top turbo). I measure the inducer at the smallest diameter it came to 50mm, don't know if that's the correct way to measure inducer. The exducer is 81mm. The compressor hosing is really small compare to the hx35(bottom).
The turbine wheel is really big on this turbo even bigger than the hx40 measuring at 78mm\66mm , it came with a 20cm^2 housing. I know that a BEP housing would not work due to its big turbine wheel. Does anybody know if there's a smaller a\r turbine housing that would fit this turbo or wheel swap from hx35\40 would work?

You may be better off finding another complete turbo that fits the bill on both wheels. That compressor is likely the small h1c compressor wheel. Holset is known to put tiny compressors with HUGE turbines over the years considering they have the spool dilema solved. That compressir looks identical to the small h1c compressor which flows less than the 48-50lb/min 54mm big h1c compressor. It's like an 18g with a t4 Qtrim turbine wheel.

Just received my compressor wheel/cover upgrade from You Have a Quality Engine: Now You Want Quality Gillett Diesel Service check out the differences.

Left: 46mm H1C wheel
Right: 58mm H1E wheel

Beautiful! I have a wh1e here with that 58mm 8blade compressor wheel. The compressor map shows as much flow as a 60-1 (old fpred or sc6052) with waaaay better high boost efficiency. Rounded exducer tips alone are way better than square cut. Looks like they are out of stock for the 8blade 60mm compressor for the h1c/h1e. How was the service?

Service was awesome. I ordered it online on Friday the 27th and got it on Wednesday the 1st. It is $250, but as of this time this is the only monies I have involved with this setup:

$50 turbo
$250 Compressor upgrade
$100 Turbine shaft
$40 rebuild kit
$50 12cm turbine housing

Total of $490 :D

Which turbine housing will you be using? In your case, I 'like' the .70 ar bep housing. You should have enough turbine flow to really get into the compressor's sweet spot. Your spool will be about the same as a bolton hx40 though. But when has that ever been a problem :)

Holset 12cm wastegated t3 housing with the flapper welded shut.

For right now i'm going to run it with a cheap ass ebay non divided manifold. But later when I can afford a divided manifold and another wg, I'll be going that route.

The 12cm^2 housing with an open manifold is proven to the 130s with stock 1g weight and spools the same as the .70 a/r housing. So it flows about the same :). Should be great with that compressor wheel.

Well I finally have the HX35 on the car and working. It ended up having a bent shaft so I had to rebuild it. The car isn't tuned very well so far as I also installed some bluemax 1650cc injectors at the same time (E85). So far I've ran about 23-24psi of boost through it and it feels pretty good. Full boost by 3500 rpm, I gotta admit, I wasn't sure I really believed a turbo of this size would spool so soon but in the BEP housing it sure does. I'm going to start tuning for 30psi of boost tonight and try to finish dialing in my cruise map.

Here's a couple pics I took with my phone. :thumb:

The -12 oil return line:

Hey guys, soo I have a friend with an s2000 and several months ago I gave him a ride in my talon with the HX35 at 30psi, and ever since then he has REALLY REALLY wanted to holset his car. He did some reaseach and really couldn't find anybody with an s2000 running a holset. So he figured he'd be one of the first ones to try it. He ended up getting an HE351 which is similar to an HY35 with the front facing exit on the compressor cover.

So yesterday we finally got his car together I made him the down pipe and lent some of my other DSMesque engineering techniques.

I just have 2 pics on my phone but I think the shit looks pretty sick.

We checked the oil pressure and it was a little high even after it warmed up. At Idle it was around ~20psi and at like 2300-3000rpm it was around 90psi!

What size restrictor do you guys recommend? I was thinking about modifying his fitting on the oil feed line at the turbo to accept the nitrous jet fittings but I just don't know what size to run. Any insight will be helpful!

Thank you!

Nice job man, your going to love it!

Thanks dude, so far so good. I think I might have a small boost leak at my lower intercooler pipe. It didn't line up quite right so I picked up a hump hose silicone coupler. I'm going to put it on today a do a BLT.

But so far it spools up very quick and the boost response between shifts is almost instant! Even shifting slow it seems to just come back into boost right away, even at part throttle. My alternator died the last night I was out tuning so of course everything went lean because the fuel pump had no voltage. Today the new alternator is going in and tonight I'm planning on upping the boost around 30psi.

This is the restrictor some of my friends and I are running: Turbo Oil Restrictor Aluminum -4AN - EBAY.

Looks really nice on that car man, even if it is a Honduh :p
