I am building a 6 bolt block with a 6 bolt head. Block has manly rods and pistons with an oem 2.3 crankshaft (built by dsmgraveyard), head has 274 cams, 3g lifters, supertech single springs and stock valves with a 3 angle grind. i have a transmission built by jacks transmission here in colorado. I still havent decided what turbo setup i want. Im shooting for 500HP at the flywheel. at this time money isnt really a issue. time is the issue. im willing to wait and save a lil bit in order to buy everything i want. This car is going to be strictly a street car. I might take it to the track a few times but i intend to build it so i can reach my full 500HP at a lower rpm. I dont want to wait till 7000RPM. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

i want to get adjustable cam gears, an input on brands and pros and cons?

yep it was on craigslist for a while, clean shell but mechanically the thing needs some love. I think i may just go with a good set of rotors and pads. stick with the stock calipers for now. thank you guys for the input! anyone in contact with bullseye? i need info on a hotside for a hx40

Aiight guys, I have been cleaning up a bunch of parts, got the rear suspension together. Will post pictures soon. Tore down the front suspension. Need some more bushings it looks like. I need recommendations on front rotors for an awd. Oh and anyone know a good place in Colorado or anywhere i can send my aluminum intake side of my turbo to get fully polished?

research the starting issue when using Aeromotive fpr's &/or Walbro fuel pumps; it's a pita, and can kill starters.

I think it's the Walbro anti-drain back seal, not the fpr, that allows fuel pressure to fall when the car is turned off-- but you should look into it for yourself.

I personally would verify that the Walbro issue has been addressed in newer models, or look to other pumps to power a corn-monster.

However, I must remind everyone that I have not verified where exactly the problem lies, so, take this for what it is - my opinion. I do however run both of these items on my current daily driver, so I have experience with them.

What exactly is wrong with a DSM graveyard motor? Ive ran one built by them for going on 2 years now:notgood::shhh:

It's cause he used to work at DSMGYard and they butt heads now because he left. They talk shit back and forth and hate each other. There's a lot more to it but that's a quick summary.

Got the front suspension completely tore down. Removed the subframe, steering rack, all suspension arms and struts, then I got bored and decided to remove the charcoal canister and about 1/2 mile of random dry rotted vacuum hoses. I picked up a set of sbc aluminum upper control arms for the front, installed energy suspension bushings, and got everything painted with a epoxy black paint. I'm still cleaning up the rear differential and the front subframe. Previous owner had to have blow the old engine or something ### there is so much oil in the engine compartment. Will post pics as soon as I can

Do you not know how to quote ? It's the button bottom right make it's a lot easier to understand what you're replying to.

Also TOGA oil pumps are a scam and a waste of motor remain with a stock (oem) one.

Align honing
isn't just for arp studs. I had measured completely unaltered/unmodded pulled out of junkyard 4g engines that were distorted

Alright guys I finally tracked down a emergency brake rebuild kit on amazon.com. It comes with new springs, retainers, adjuster bolts the whole shabang. But for some reason the picture I took of the new brake setup won't load so here's the next best thing

Come on u know u want to touch that sexy talon ass. Lol

Ok guys I need input. I need to buy or just use the factory turbine housing on the hx40 pro I have. I am building a 2.3 with 274 cams. I want to have at least a little lower end power. I don't wanna hit the gas and 5 seconds later feel like I was hit by a bus, so to speak. So what housing do I go with for my hx40? The bullseye 55 mitsu turbine housing, the bullseye t3 55 housing? Or what?

Alright guys I picked up a different rear bumper today. In the last picture I can see in the middle the old one is pushed in in the middle. Gna have a friend paint the new one to match the car. Also got passenger window glass and new door mirrors I'm going to have painted gloss black. Anyone have advice on a place to buy factory body parts and trim from?

picked up a 2gb talon front bumper today for $35. going to have it painted to match the car. I need the fender side skirt pieces, mine are broken where the tabs are.

I am still debating on a 6 bolt head or a 7 bolt head. Keep in mind i am looking for the quickest spool with a hx40 Pro. i have both heads. What do you recommend i go with?

I'm sparing no expensence myself. I just made a bad decision and went with dsmgraveyard. My own fault. Short block is going to get torn apart. Sent to a machine shop resurfaced and then I'm going to reinstall crank rods and pistons.

That being said I will run all arps

What a waste of money, but you were warned.

and you car has way to much going on in my opinion. eclipse and talon spoiler both on, with a black stripe down the car??? what are you a neon??

and this build needs to be moved into the journal section.

fastest spool comes from the stock housing and a twin scroll manifold but its more exspensive. the BEP .55 a/r and .70 a/r housings are a much cheaper alternative that allows you to run mitsu style manifolds and stuff like that BUT its more restrictive. since money isnt an issue ill go with a twin scroll setup and factory housing. YOULL SPOOL EXTREMELY FAST!

heres a vid of an HX35 with factory housing and twin scroll manifold. you can see how quick the spool is. i can imagine how much faster and powerful your hx40 2.3 will be :thumb:

im sorry you dont have anything positive to say about my car. I bought it with both spoilers and with its current paint job, and i like it. thats all that matters to me.

im not sure how to move it to the journal section.

I am very interested in twin scroll, i have been looking and the manifold i found that i like is this one STM: PUNISHMENT RACING | DSM TWIN SCROLL TURBO MANIFOLD (DUAL WASTEGATES)

talk about pricey! LOL

i just dont know if my factory hx40 pro housing will bolt up to the punishment manifold and fit in the engine bay.

2g head is better for quick revving which means you will be in boost earlier

its been debated a lot tho so you may want to read up on it

yeah maybe not. you might need to remove AC and relocate your alternator or install skinnier fans and such. i say look around! im sure theres something somewhere you can do and still fit it all in there without doing anything crazy.... idk LOL

removed the abs yesterday. went to the junk yard today and picked up all 4 lines and proportioning valve off of a 96 gsx without abs. I got lucky it was the first car i came across.

i also emailed punishment about hx40 fitment on a 2g 6bolt.

dude go with the 3065 from FP and don't look back.

i was looking at the fp turbos, im going to try this hx40 first and see how i like the power band, im hoping with my setup i will like it. Im not one of those guys that likes a car that is slower then shit till 5000 grand, then the turbo kicks in and it feels like a semi hit you. Im hoping this one will do.

Sell that crank pulley. Other than that, you're buying some nice parts and keep going. :thumb:

you dont like the pulley? i was planning on running it or a fluidamper.
