So its been about 7 years sense my last DSM build, and I just picked up a 99 GSX. It is in amazing condition, and in all stock form. I haven't decided my build path if any considering the car is in such amazing shape. I like a running DSM and once parts start going on things start breaking...

Look foward to being back on here with everyone, glad to see some of the old crew still posting (Ludachris and others)!

Very nice...congrats...I too just picked up a very clean, stock except for intake and cat-back exhaust 99 GSX...I know what you mean about not wanting to do anything to it cause it runs great just the way it is...I'm in the same boat as you, but I do wanna do something...just gotta keep it simple

I have done manuals and auto's, and will stick with an automatic every time. To me they are more consistant, and I have fun driving it just the same. Something about eating my big mac, drinking my soda and still woopin the poop out of the guy next to me that does it for me.

The guys over at IPT did my last automatic and I would put it against almost any manual DSM out there (I did say almost!!). I think its a shame that my car is so quite right now so I am thinking of IC pipes, BOV, intake, and then for my exhaust I am going with the Meagen O2-downpipe-and catback. I am kind of picky when it comes to everything being from one company when it comes to the parts. I don't want to go Apexi this, HKS that, and ebay, and Meagen is one of the only ones I saw that does O2 housing to exhaust tip.

You gonna install a shiftbox with it? I'd say do it, they're fairly cheap and make the world of a difference.

Very nice...they are beautiful aren't they. I just picked up a manual 1998 GSX yesterday. Cayenne Red Pearl. Yours looks great. I am thinking the same way you are, probably no mods. She is stock and runs like a champ. There's a certain value to dependability. :)

DSMDeliveryboy: probably no to a shiftbox, mine goes in the gear when I wan't/need it to. Put my foot to the floor for WOT and she goes to the redline :thumb:

I am weighing my options for a 14b though...thats still considered stock isn't it??? Yes I know its not, and have to do the supporting mods.

Does anyone have any opinions on the full Meagen O2 to tip setup? I know when I ran my Apexi downpipe with the Evo III O2 housing there was fitment problems, I am more afraid of a drown sound in the cab with a full exhaust....

Shiftbox will help with firmer shifting, and you can control the shifting that much more. I'm running a Megan Racing downpipe on my GSX to a HKS Carbon Ti, running a RRE custom 3" o2 housing though. If your worried about cabin drone, install more resonators. The Megan Racing exhaust is fairly loud.

Here is my exhaust, 0 cats or resonators.

Thanks for the audio clip delivery, I have always liked the sound of the HKS setup's but man are they expensive. The Meagen O2, DP, and CB are $700 total, the HKS is $700 alone. Your sounds nice though!

Very nice! I've been wanting to pick up an auto to play with :)

I did! and it has been a blast! :rocks:

:p:hellyeah::cool:

I just picked up my 97 GSX for that reason: Just had it tuned (video in link)
DSM Forums - 2G 97 Eclipse GSX with 16g on dyno

On a conservative baseline tune it made 220 WHP!:D Best of all, it holds full boost through every shift, you can can stop it and it pulls hard!

Ya there was one selling in the classifieds a few weeks ago for $300 shipped, I was thinking about just picking it up because it was so cheap. Now I wish I woulda haha. And thank you :D
