im putting in a wavetrac lsd in my shep racing stage 2 tranny and i just wanted to know if yall knew where i could find the speedo ring gear. ive been searching the forums and havent really found anything other than road race engineering and i didnt see one on theres site.

also after the install what do you seal the tranny case with?

this is going in a 99 gst by the way

its on the differential your taking out of your car. your not doing the work yourself are you? because if you dont know what and where to find the speedo ring gear you shouldent be taking your trans apart

no im not doin the work my uncle is im just going to help, when i brought it to him he ask me what i needed to seal the trans case with so thats why i asked. i know that he would need a new ring gear so thats why im trying to find one.

any clues on the ring gear?

well since shep, jacks, tre, and rre all can and have installed aftermarket differentials into dsm trannys the best thing to do would be to call them because obviously they have, or know where to get a speedo ring gear.

I got mine from Road Race Engineering. Here's a link to the page with them The Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing Differentials. The stock differential has the speed ring gear cast into it so you need to order a new one from RRE. Its also recommended that you get two new differential bearings which are listed right below the speedo drive gear. I'm not sure if the parts are different between the Quaife and the Wavetrac LSDs so give RRE a call to make sure. I would assume both LSDs are made to stock differential specs though. Finally I sealed my transmission with a thin layer of black RTV. Just don't go crazy with the stuff.
