I actually liked LOTR. I'm one of the few people that read the books BEFORE the movie, and still managed to enjoy it (even though just about everything was different). Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but when in the Two Towers all those uruk-hai were in-front of helms deep, beating their spears/weapons/feet into the ground, and hearing that pounding through the IMAX's badass stereo system making you actually feel like you were there... is all I can say.
