Just wondering who else has to put up with bs from people. parents, spouses, friends. I get alot crap from my dad,"that cars a piece of shit all it does is break down, its a damn money pit", "you need to sell that car and buy something nice, or buy american, all that money your putting into it your never gunna get back", "that cars not even fast, your moms bmw will beat it". And then all the honduh owners in my town who are all ignorant f#^ks.

So who hates your car? Parents, wife, friends, ect.
This is pretty much a vent thread, just wanna know how many people out there have to deal with as much shit as me, or maybe more.

the family... they say i put too much money on it... yet it keeps breaking down...... its like paying money to get it broken...

The only people that don't like mine are local people from my town whose cars aren't as fast.

Whoever kicked-in my windshield last week must not have liked it too much! Still have no clue who it was.

My ex-GF used to lay it on my how I paid more attention to the car than to her. I told her I could still pay more attention to the car, and less attention to her. Now there's two cars, and no her! Everything worked-out for the better...

I wonder if she still cyber-stalks me on here?

Oh yeah...my ex girlfriend didn't like my car too much either. But I still have my car and she's gone. My car was victorious in that battle.

its usually all the dumb n/a kids in there hundahs or guys with big rims on there cars with an annoying muffler....even WITH a FMIC on i get revvd at on so many occasions....it seems like there more attracted now then before :/ not to mention all the stuff u mentioned about parents b$%&ching about the car...hell my dad just told me why I installed another radiator on my car and a honduh loving f$% tried talkin crap about how my gsx wasnt fast since it couldnt burn out.....I tried explainin how its AWD and AWD cars have traction etc but it was useless...needless to say it ended with me makin a comment about how my lug nuts have more torque than his pos motor and me break boosting and watching his surprised look on his face

Pretty much every Honda or Toyota in town with those horrible sounding fart-can mufflers. Or any a$$hole with those rediculous wings on the back of their front wheel drive car.

I make it a point to mess with them every chance I get.

My parents liked the idea of 1G at first, now they think both the cars break too much. Everyone I know who isn't into DSM's all say my cars break too much and have too many problems and that cars like that aren't practical. My little sister drives a 740IL and thinks it will walk all over both my cars Lol.

My girlfriend hates my car. She says its a money pit and she says I spend more time working on it than I do with her. The funny thing is she loves to ride in it.

I don't think you'll find anyone on here that hates their car. Maybe certain things about it but not it as a whole.

I hate my car, but its a love-hate relationship, I love to hate it.

My mother really hates it too because she hasnt had use of her garage in 3 years. Yeah I dont even live there but my old talon does, along with enough parts to practically build another talon.

the wife cant stand mine! or all 4 of them for that mater! . but i think shes already gotten use to it, after all of these years of me buying and flipping them. and it pretty much just fits in the cycle of life. haha

My car's been (mostly) reliable. But then I've had mine for 2 years and I'm still running mostly stock. Oddly, I find other DSMers hate my car. Cause it doesn't brake down as much. It's smoother. And it has A/C.

I have heard my mother say.

"With the current Gas prices you bought a TURBO car? What is wrong with you?"

My reply?

My family is completely opposite, they all love the car. My dad is Corvette crazy and he loves how this thing can keep up with the plastic American sportscar. My girlfriend loves this car more than I do, when I destroyed the engine and was ready to sell the thing she pushed me to keep it and rebuild. While it's a money pit, it's my money so they don't care as far as other car guys, yeah they hate. But when you're rolling in some Honda and a DSM packin' a front mount, no interior, and massive Brembo brakes pulls up next to you at a stoplight, all you can really do is hate

Same as the others, Madre complains it's a money pit, always hearing my gf say ""it's always something breaking on that car," but she loves it yet keeps on telling me to finally buy an Evo. And pretty much everyone who I know that knows nothign about DSMs says all you do is spend money on it. DUHHH because I love my b*tch.

My parents don't exactly love it. They don't understand what it's like to have a passion for fast cars so they just think it's pointless. My dad always tells me, "A car never needs to go more then 65 so what's the point of owning a fast one." I then explain to him that taking them to the track is fun and that's why performance cars really exist, and then he just tells me I'm going to break my car and how dumb of an idea that is. My parents' attitude doesn't surprise me since they are concerned about my finances, but a couple of my friends who like cars don't like mine. That's what I don't understand. I'm known as a car guy by all my friends and am always confronted about potential purchases, but every time I recommend a DSM, they always shoot it down. One of the guys I used to live with even bought a bone stock '02 Subaru 2.5 RS over one. I could excuse that if he wanted an economical sedan, but he thinks it is a better performance platform then a DSM. Well, I guess I'll end my novel now haha.

My bro has recently been bitching at me since im gathering the parts for the 6 bolt swap, "Why the hell do you need a flywheel??..Pistons? What the hell do you want that for??"..etc etc.
But in the end hes cool about it. He does own a jetta, so hes into the "sick" looking car.
My gf actually hasnt said anything about it, maybe because ive only had it for 1 year.
A good buddy of mine, pretty much whom i do all the work on my car with, hates on it for being a FWD and that i cant drift. (Hes a 240 kid)
And finally some dumbass who "owns" a Chevelle SS that p.o.s hasnt been turned on in almost a decade.

I don't understand the girlfriends hating on the dsms??...I love my ex's car..sometimes I think I miss it more than I miss him. I always thought it really showed that he actually has an ability to be passionate about something..He's half the reason I got into dsms....everyone in my family pretty much hates my car though.

my mom she never will tell me why, my friend cause its the one he wanted but i bought it first, my gf cause i go broke buying for the car and she says it should be her, and my other guess is the people who call it a slow 4 banger piece of mitsubishi shit and even after it kicks there ass.

i hear you on that one. my dad loves my car and my mom a little. all the cars my mom has owned are subaru or a mitsu. alot of teens my age hate my car (18)
1- im 18 and i have a fast/nice car
2- they own a 1990~ rust bucket that cant pick up ladies.

also since i live in a mahwah (biggest town in Bergen county) alot of it is forest so alot of people own lifted trucks. they just hate on me because i dont own a truck.

I had a 1.8 at one point. And I have a momo shifter knob. IMO the 420a dsm was the abomination that lead to the 3g and 4g eclipse being fast looking grocery getters.
