Just wanted to know how these turbos compare to other popular turbo brands? Im interested in buying a ct467 but i just never heard of them. So an info would be great! thanks.

Also if you know of any other turbo that would compare to it for under 1000 just let me know.

Dude, Justin is the turbo god.. he probably has taken apart more turbos in a year then you will in your life..

+1 Jus
+1 Dsm-onster

i was thinking in 5 minutes.:p
I don't know Justin or 99% of any of you. From what I have read he knows his shit and that's good. I don't know alot about turbos. I don't have to. I deal with proven company's that make turbos. He rebuilds turbos so of course he's going to know more than I. But just from asking a few questions on turbo threads I know for a fact I know a few things that he and a few others don't. So stop calling that man a "Turbo God" and stop talking down to me like i'm some idiot noob. We are "SUPPOSED" to be here to learn from each other. It's not about who knows more. He is very turbo smart. I have contacts that are head engineers at the turbo companies. He does not know more than them. That doesn't mean I don't value what he does know.

Sorry I had to vent.

That's a nice Garrett with a BW compressor cover you have there. Wonder if that giant turbine wheel will reach full boost before 6K?

The car should be done next week. Talk is cheap and people want proof so I'll gladly post them numbers :D.
Sounds good to me, man. I'm expecting no slower than 8's the way you've been talking, seeing as a close friend of mine just ran 10's on a rather shitty tune using a turbo I rescued from the junkyard. That's a $200 turbo in a $235 turbine housing....tens for $435 with a lot of room to grow. :thumb:

...and I repair them when they break and are not covered by warranty, saving DSMers money and the hassle of dealing with the proven company's outrageous prices to rebuild or repair their shitty products.

You've done nothing to prove otherwise except come on this site and run your mouth about how amazing a turbo is that you haven't even used yet. Given the choice between Turbo God and Idiot Noob, we'll let the readers choose your status.

Before I go, I gotta know....

...what the hell's up with your wiper in this picture? Please tell me you're not doing that ricer single-wiper mod that is as stupid-looking today as it was 10 years ago. Great mod if you're planning to move the driver's seat to the center of the car.

There is a shop in Kingsport, TN where I live (the shop is actually called "the shop" LOL) the owner is a dealer of Compturbos and he swears by them and has even broken a few records with them. He has the record for the highest horsepower street driven KA 240sx (900 and something to the wheels I think) and has built a single turbo foxbody making well over 1,000whp using compturbo's so they seem pretty legit. As far as dsm's go I havent seen many running comp stuff.

I've already stated it makes 32-34 psi by 5700rpm on a conservative tune at 11* timing.

I want to really test my car and see what it will run on regular street tires. It should be very interesting.

I've ran the turbo for over a year. I'm not saying it's amazing etc. I'm just responding to your inaccurate comments on the supposedly low quality Chinese knock off garret turbo that I run. A turbo which you have never seen in person.

A wiseman insulting me for no reason.

No Trolling. A "troll" is a person who posts content for the sole purpose of baiting someone into a hostile confrontation - they do this for entertainment, to make themselves feel more adequate, and to get attention. It can be blatant or subtle. Do not reply to troll-like threads. If a message is posted that looks like the person is trying to get a rise out of someone, just report it and move on. The best remedy for keeping trolls away is just ignoring them. Do not reply to their baiting messages. Ignore them and they will go away and take their senseless agendas with them. Take the bait and they will stick around and keep posting.

I'm not even going to comment on your little remark. It's beneath me. You as a wiseman are a perfect example of this site. Grow up and make sure the post stays on topic. That is your little job isn't it? It shouldn't be to hard for you to follow the rules.

Why not? I was just asking a question....and you've had something intelligent to say to everything else I've inquired about thus far.

That's what I need more of....the general public telling ME what MY JOB IS on a daily basis.

I'm sure while you were surfing the rule section, you came across this:

"Those who have the DSM Wiseman title are members of the DSM community who have been around the block and are knowledgeable in various areas of DSM performance and they typically go above and beyond when helping others on our site. They are considered the resident experts in the subjects they offer help in. They represent what this site is all about. If you have a problem with a Wisemans' post, Report the post to a Moderator. Do not get into a pissing match with them publicly. They volunteer their time to help inexperienced members on our site and will not be hassled or subjected to ridicule by members who have made fewer contributions to the site than they have."

Since you've done nothing but attempt to make me and Matt look like complete assholes in this entire thread, if you have anything else to say off the record you can PM me or Matt and we'll gladly continue this discussion.

Good luck with getting your car done, and I'll be looking forward to the results that we've been waiting for.

Lol so who's this guy backing spoolin and they're both from Chicago? Did you nicely ask your boyfriend to come "rep" you on this site? :D

Uhmmm uhmmm fighting with Jus. Wonderful idea.

I await dynoslips. Then come talk shit. From here until then? Stfu.

I Want to See a Dyno Slip or I want someone to give me 30 minutes of my life back after reading this....

Until then, I'll Stick with my Big 16G and My Custom set of 10:1 Compression Pistons....

Any updates with this not just double ball-bearing but with this TRIPLE BALL-BEARING turbo?

I've already stated it makes 32-34 psi by 5700rpm on a conservative tune at 11* timing.

Indeed that is a pretty fast spool turbo but I guess that is the benefit of going to a triple ball-bearing turbo. Although the Holset HX52 is pretty fast spooling turbo too being able to do 27 psi @ 5200rpm on a journal ball-bearing for a third of the price.

Oh well... what could one expect! All say no go.

No new thing with Comp Turbo just like my friend was expecting a triple ball-bearing Comp Turbo to produce the most powerful mr2 at 700-800 WHP on a professionally stroked out mr2 engine. It just all went down in flames!

I have a comp turbo. Im pretty sure my thread on it was the one moved to the newb section. My experience has been limited so far due to a rebuild and deployment being in the way of me getting wheel time on it. What Comp did for me was go above and beyond. They took my 3575 that was ruined and built me a ceramic tbb center section that fit in the 3575 housings. They did have to do a LITTLE machine work on the turbine housing becaues they used a slightly larger wheel on the new turbo. I dont think they did anything to the compressor housing aside from machine the mounting flange to fit their center section.
On a tune that was the same aside from richening it a little because the new turbo flowed more air I started seeing a performance gain at arround 3200 rpm. I had 10 psi by 3200 where the old turbo was still trying to get moving. Once there was boost i saw 10-50 more hp at every rpm range to 7500 rpm @ 20 psi. This is all according to dsmlink. I will say it definately created more power than the old turbo. People can bash it if they want but im sold on the company as of now. They did me a favor and sold me a custom built turbo at a very reasonable price and machined my housings to fit for free. I did not ask for a turbo that would make X hp. I tild them what I would be using the car for and what my goals were with the current set up. They went through my options with me and helped me to figure out what the best turbo would be considering my goals and useage. Once I get back from This deployment I plan to really abuse this turbo at high boost in the Nevada desert during the SSCC. Ill update everyone on the progress and ill try to get some 70-90 times posted once i get home and get her back together. Im no sponsored and I have nothing to do with Comp Turbos aside from buying what I consider an EXCELLENT turbo at an EXCEPIONAL price. They seem to be a solid company that will help a soldier out and that means alot to me as a soldier.

that's what new products need. Personal feedback. But your thread was not moved to the newb section. I'm still confused as to why but you reviewing a new company was put in the graveyard in exile LOL. Your experience with the 3575 is what gave me the idea to make a custom tbb hx40 which I plan to put on my spyder.

Company reviews should not be put in the tech forums or the newbie forum. I'm sure it's tiresome to see it done over, and over, and over, and over again. That's likely why it got thrown in the "graveyard". If the starter of said thread really wants to post a review, he'll start in in the proper place.

Interesting because he posted the review in parts feedback / review. If that is the incorrect section for future reference can you tell me the correct section?

If my car were slow i'm sure Mike Reichen would have told me to ditch the turbo after he tuned the car.

I got my car back yesterday. I just have to do a few things before I hit the dyno (break in the trans, throw in the new pump etc).

I'll be back when I have the numbers.

Damn, whoever wrapped that manifold did a $hittie job. It would most likely do more harm like crack the manifold then dissipate the heat. Keep it simple and thermal coat the manifold.

It doesn't look bad in person, .It's ceramic coated 2000* satin black and wrapped. The turbo has the matching turbo blanket. Don't worry you'll be seeing the car in person ;). So lets keep the thread on topic.

Update. i made it to the mustang dyno. On the AEM logs my car on full spoolup hit 22psi by 5300 then broke up . Looking at the logs I was told it appears i'll reach peak boost (40psi) around 5800rpm OMG. It shocked everyone. But i'm still depressed. I have to find and fix what's wrong and am scheduled next Thursday to hit the dyno again. I'll be back with the final numbers.

Spark blowout. Depending on how much airflow that beast is making, you may be having a tough time keeping the plugs lit.

Dave's been fighting the same issue all year with his low-10 HX40 setup. Seems everytime he ups the boost a little he also needs to close the plug gap as well. He's down to around .022" which seems to be enough to keep the plugs lit to 38psi or so.
