Recently, i picked up the september issue of Import Tuner and found an interesting add about Innovate Motorsport's free Logwork app for the iphone/droid. Apparently Logworks has created an application for these networks that (with the use of the Logwork OBD-II connection) can be used as
  • Dyno
    Data Logger
    Efficiency Meter
    Gauge/Digital dash
    OBD-II Scan Tool.
After purchasing the software and downloading the free app, the software can apparently dyno your car while driving down the road. The guys at Import Tuner gave it a test and compared to an actual Dyno-Jet this app was only off by 6.9%.
Have any of you guys seen this add, or even use this system?

I haven't tried this particular app, but I've tried 3 dyno/acceleromoter apps, and they all sucked.

I think one app said 440whp, which was optimistic. I was probably around 400 at the time. Some of the other apps couldn't even get readings.

For the 1/4 mile timers, in my car it will sometimes record the launch, but even with it held securely, the shock of the 1-2 shift screws it up and it stops recording.

I guess i could baby the shifts, but that defeats the purpose of timing a 1/4 mile.

I've never used a G-Tech timer in the DSM, but it worked very well in past cars, and proved to be extremely accurate.

They did a write up on it in Import Tuner and were off by 10whp (it was 10 over) after averaging out the runs. This system isnt just coming off of your phone though. This one has a wifi transmitter plugged into your OBD-II port and sends the information that way...which would seem to be much more accurate. When i upgrade phones (droid) i'm going to look into it.
