Ok i have been chasing down the gremlins since i changed to E316g. I had some boost leakes around the Jpipe, and bov, but when i drove the car with the leaks it ran fine, just wasnt making that much boost (15psi) instead of (22psi). But once i fixed the boost leaks, it dies everytime i come to a stop after hard acceleration. So i was working on adjusting the BOV and vented it to make it easier to adjust and the car doesnt die anymore when i come to a stop??? The wideband shows i am rich between shifts, but it never done this with the small 16g set a 25psi? Any ideas....

Without running speed density or using a GM MAF in blow through mode, you are not to vent at all. You are blowing out metered air which is calculated to go into the engine and is also use to measure how much fuel is to be injected as well.

A leaking BOV will be major problems if you vent improperly too.

Yeah i am aware of that.......Thats kinda why i posted the question of why it possibly would not die after vented, but dies and stumble when it is unvented. The BOV is a Turbonetics Raptor, maybe 5 months old.....and since my car is a DSM and always sits on jackstands it maybe has 450 miles on the BOV. And i have repaired all my boost leaks, and just did another boost leak check last night, bov held 25psi just fine.

But thanks for the input.

So then what is your issue? You said it doesn't die any more with it recirculated (which is how it's to be) so I don't understand what you want to hear.

in my original post i said after i unvented it....i meant vented or uncirculated it, it did not die.....That is the question. I vented (removed the recirculation tube) and now the car DOESN'T die. It ran fine with some boost leaks, but all the problems came up when i fixed them.

With the boost leaks fixed and the Bov RE-Circulated it dies after hard acceleration, but when UN-Circulated(vented) it doesnt................sorry it was early and i have been up tooooooo long. I wish i could edit the Title......To sleepy and posting does not mix well.

1. You can change the thread title. It's either under advanced edit or thread tools.
2. So recircualated it's dying on you but while venting (atmospheric blow off) it's not stalling out?

What is your AF reading on your wideband when it stalls out and how do the plugs look after it doing that for a bit?

Thanks i wasnt sure how to edit the title.....Yes it dies out when recirculated, but doesnt when uncirculated.
between shifts it is reading 10.0-10.5, thats with it uncirculated. I will have to take a spin around the block with it recirculated to check, but i think its the same?
I just put in new plugs so i will give them a look. I havent logged it yet, i lost my cable and need to make a new one today. Thanks for the help LiquidX

i have the same bov not to question you but is it hooked up correctly? i seem to remember when i hooked my raptor up for the first time it did the same. and compressor surged like crazy

also have you adjusted the spring tension? my raptor was so tight that anything under 10 it would not open it wouldnt open the thing would stumble and every once and awhile die

Yeah i am in the process of adjusting the BOV right now......thats when i noticed it ran better(when i uncirculated it to hear it better).Hmmm. I will give that a shot. I may go back to my 1g bov and see what happens.

My plugs look like its been rich...but it has. I see a 10.1 on the wideband between shifts and on deacceleration it reads 10.0 also when uncirculated.

Recirculated i see 11.8-12-2 between shifts, and 11.0 on deacceleration.
I just drove it around the block recirculated, and it dies and and stumbled.

i am going to try to adjust the BOV, or switch back to the 1g and see what happens.

because im sure he wants to fix the problem rather than ignore it.

i had to set mine way soft but even though it still wont open below 2 or 3 and on light accel i get some compressor surge between shifts it annoying and im sure i could adjust it out .i may try and adjust it out later today

I messed around with the Turbonetics BOV for about an hour, still dies after hard acceleration. And the BOV still doesnt sound like it should. So i put the crushed 1g back on......and it runs fine. I dont know maybe when its not 101 degrees out i may mess with the Turbonetics, but for now it runs........
