ok so i need some help tons of questions?

evo 8 and 9 pistons what is the real difference? i hear the evo 9 are a bit stronger just wanted to know for sure?

Whats 1g long rods? the ones in the N/A block? and whats the difference between the ones that come in the turbo block? can the evo pistons be used on the short rods?

evo pistons are same bore as a 4g63 as they are 4g63s i believe the correct is 85mm?

when a block is honed will it effect anything or do i need to just gab the rings a bit wider?

When polishing a crankshaft unless its turned i dont need bigger bearings correct?

Where do i go about finding 1g long rods?

thats all i can think about for right now thanks guys

the long rods come from a turbo 6bolt i believe... correct me if im wrong...

now for the honing.. you should measure the cylinder walls to see in what size they are... then hone them but not too much...

now for the rod bearings... its always recommended to measure them to see if any are warped or uneven... in other words if its never been touched and polish the crank, you should be fine with standard size bearings....

The Evo9 pistons are half forged

There are no "long" rods from the factory. You might be thinking of the "big" rods, which are in the 6 bolt turbo and n/t. You'd have to have the wrist pin hole enlarged to 22mm if using the 6 bolt rods with Evo pistons.

85mm is correct.

Have your machinist check the clearances for you, to make sure they are good.

If the crank is only micropolished, use standard sized bearings.

You'd have to order long rods from a vendor.

:)

what about pistons rings for the evo 8-9 pistons? do cp piston rings work are they better over some of the other rings?

no i got pistons for 50 bucks from an evo 9? with there rods and im selling rods for 100. Second that will give me the rings i need. after i find out which ones i need

well are the cp rings better they seem more brand name? just wondering?

Long rods are for reducing displacement. They only come from an aftermarket company. The wrist pin in a 1g is 21mm the 2g/evo 22mm. Honing it will affect it some, so you will need to measure it and make sure you dont over do it.
