Hello,

I have a friend who has a hahn race craft side mount on his 2g. He is willing to sell it to me for a reasonable price, problem is I dont know if there are any differences in the mounting and/or inlet/outlet between 1g and 2g side mounts. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance.

If you're asking if it will bolt right up, no. You can make it fit though, you'll have to change stuff around and I believe 2g inlets and outlets are bigger.

The inlet and out let are bigger on the 2g. You gonna run that 20g? Your going to need some custom piping. I also recommend a 2g tb inlet. Just so happens I have a spare.

No I will most likely be running a 16g. I think I have a 2g TB elbow, if not how much you want for yours?

I don't know make me an offer I need some extra cash for the awd conversion. If you run a 16g your gonna need a j-pipe or custom piping for the inlet side.

Don't use a 2G factory intercooler on a 1G car....the 2G core itself is half the size of the factory 1G intercooler.

If you want to create the best setup, cut the inlet and outlet off the 2G core and have them welded to your 1G core after opening up the holes for the inlet and outlet a little. This is basically what DeJon did long ago to increase the efficiency of the 1G core by reducing the pressure loss associated with the 1-7/8" inlet and outlet when using a bigger turbo.

It's not a stock 2g side mount it's a Hahn racecraft side mount that was in a 2g car. I was trying to find out if the inlet and outlet pipes were differet between the 1g and 2g and if the swap would be worth the time.

1g turbo cars have a j pipe already. A 16g is a direct bolt on for them. For the 2g you need the j pipe.

Just measure the inlet and outlet on the IC and if it's bigger than your current piping (most likely not) then get reducer couplers.

No 1gs do not have a j pipe. A j pipe is required for a tdo5 to work with a 2g inter cooler or a front mount inter cooler. Or you can make custom piping.

2g piping is much larger than stock 1g piping and this may have larger ports than a stock 2g.
