The valve covers are notorious for crack/warping. Also, check and see if you have a rubber seal on the inside of your 710 cap.

ok turn your car and have a friend gas it hard... now you stay in front looking at the engine bay and search were the oil is comming from... LOOK AT THE VALVE COVER BOLTS .....!!!

My guess is cracked vc. Have you checked the compression since the rebuild? You may have a lot of blowby explaining the oil blowing all over the place.

alright. havnt checked the compression... since it overheated i want to buy a new vc anyways but i was looking for a new stock one not a ebay powdercoated pay out of the ass one... also i will have someone gas it hard while i look. and on occasion i pop the hood to find the dipstick out but this time it wasnt but the oil was still present

Is your dipstick popping out because it could be this also...

Happens to me sometimes. If it's everywhere (Valve cover, top of radiator, sometimes on bottom of hood) that'd be my guess too :thumb:

I overlooked this as I posted. You are sure that all the oil was cleaned before you drove it?

im sure the oil was cleaned... i found the leak.... huge crack under one of the bolts. and also on a side note, if your drving very fast, make sure your master brake cylinder isnt bad. any ideas where to get a valve cover?

use the 4G63 search in classifieds, you should be able to find a couple on there. also on ebay there are many valve covers for good prices. you can even get powder coated ones on there if you want.

Bummer! I'd give CraigsList a shot... nice not having to wait on shipping. Otherwise, the marketplace is usually pretty successful.
