Hi everyone. Recently a lucrative potential trade has come my way, but I can't quite choose whether I like my dsm or the other dsm better. That's where I come to you guys. So:
Which car would you rather have? (I'll describe both below)

My thoughts: My car is sexy as hell compared to a 1g i think and it would be faster right now, but the 1g is a rare find (6bolt/4bolt thats clean and mostly stock) and has more potential.

Car 1 (my car):
1995 Eagle Talon TSi FWD
act 2600, safc2, 650's, greddy ic pipes, greddy bov, 14b, 3" turboback, mbc, koni struts, eibach springs, 15k on minor motor and tranny rebuild (103k on shell), balance shafts removed, lots of other minor mods.
Extremely Clean
Bad: Cracked windshield, speedo quit working, stock rear struts
(Attached pics are of my car)

Car 2(trade opportunity):
1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD (6 bolt/4bolt)
So much done to it that it would be easier to just put a link to the description...
AMAZING 1992 EAGLE TALON TSI AWD

So what do you guys think? I looked at the car in person and its everything that the add describes. Very clean and well taken care of as well.

Pros/Cons

My car:
Pro's- Sexy 2g, clean, more mods, act 2600 clutch, less loud interior, sunroof, extremely good daily driver, has a/c
Con's- FWD, Not as up to date on maintenance as the 1g

1g:
Pro's- AWD, 6/4 bolt, clean, More potential, very little that hasn't been replaced or rebuilt, needs nothing
Con's- Ugly 1g, Not as good for dailying, Not as many mods (will cost more to make faster at this point), red interior, oem clutch, no a/c

the last pic from the CL posting shows the timing belt, look at the side closest to the motor and see the groove that is cut into the entire thing. That is what my friends GVR4 belt looked like when he got it, there is a bolt in the oil pan that if put in the wrong spot it sticks up too far and causes that to happen. The belt will need to be replaces asap.

I just zoomed in and looked again, and it could be what i said, but not 100% without a clearer pic. just something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the tip! :thumb:

AWD>>>>>FWD....

Ditch your junk ... my opinion

Edit: why do you think your car would be quicker? Same turbo, similar mods.... If it were a drag race you'd lose vs. AWD alone

I would rather the AWD. Buts its all personal preference. They both look good, and have tasteful mods. Its really up to you whether you want a clean ass one wheel peel, or a awd that is still clean but not as clean as your 2g.

That is a clean 1 gb. If you trade pull out your injectors and safc. I like the rare red interior. That is the only one I have ever seen. Like the 2 ga blue (I have only seen one in person)

That 1g is clean and it's AWD, but the 2g is clean and a very sexy body. There are pros and cons to each decision. If it were me I'd stay 2g. I have had 1g, 2g, and 3g. I regret getting rid of the 2g.

i would go with the 1G talon they are great cars and the one u wanna trade for it well taken care of and thats important ...but everyone has their favoritesand i would never trade 1G for a 2G ....but thats me y have a hard decision on your hands ...good luck :D

That's a real nice 1g with alot of recent attention and I think the 92 6/4 is the best secks of them all. If I could go back in time I'd have waited for a 92 6/4 Talon like that one. But your 2g looks like a great cruising car though so if you're looking to keep it simple I'd have to stick with it. Even though its fwd :)

I seen that 1G posted around my area on craigslist also, I live in kenosha WI. I was wanting to buy it but I couldn't find it again.

The huge thing here is going from fwd to awd!!!!!!!!!! If you are going to make any kind of power you are going to want a awd and thats the bottom line. Wheel spin at 60 is fun for a few weeks and then it gets old. A 6bolt 4bolt is the best dsm you can buy... If you want a fast street and track car get the awd if you just want a dd and weekend car keep your car. awd:hellyeah: fwd:banghead:

I think I would win because I'm running more boost. :sneaky:
And I can support it with my 650's
Plus after riding in both I think my car just feels quicker.

I'm in way over my head here and I'm really unsure which I would prefer...
I'll edit the main post and do a pro/con for each.

I have seen the 1g for sale all over aroungnd here. It is very clean and was supposed to be a auto to 5spd swap. Take a good look at that and make sure it was done correctly.

mod for mod that car will eat you!!!! awd vs fwd is not a close race unless the fwd has enough power to catch the awd on the top end. You drive that awd and launch it and see which is faster:hmm:. You need to tell every1 what you want out of the cars? A street and strip car or a nice quick dd that is not really a 1/4mile machine.

I personally wouldn't even consider trading a 2g for a 1g. But I guess it all depends on what you want out of the car. If your satisfied with your car then why trade?

Just a quick thing I didn't mention:
Whichever car I end up with is/will be my daily driver. If that influences you guys in your advice.

Sounds like you're not really digging the 1g. All you really want is your car to be AWD. Maybe you should just check into the AWD swap or sell it and buy a 2g awd?
