I have a 95 talon non turbo and for some reason its draining batteries like nothing, it's not a bad alternator and not a bad battery and i don't know what it is there are no lights or door's left open or on as well. I do have a alarm and remote start on it could that be the issue i'm having here

I had the same problem, do a total wire check. Look for any lose wires or any that look bad, you could have a short somewhere. Thats how I solved my issues.

I went thru the same problem after installing a rebuilt alternator. Found out the alternator had an internal short.

Quickest way to find shorts is unhook the negative cable, then hook up a test lamp between the negative terminal and the negative cable. If the light comes on, you have a short. Then just start pulling fuses until the light goes out. That will show you what circuit the short is in.

i like how this guy thinks... nice way to check for shorts...

i learned something new...!!!

Just for ha-has, you might also check to make sure the battery is the right size. When I has my GS back in the day, the P.O. had yanked a battery from what I'm guessing was a truck. Needless to say, it was grounding out on the hood and killing the car. Good luck :thumb:

It's a yellow top optima

When I first bought my Talon the ECU was fried and when the battery was hooked up it was getting drained through the ECU. Smelt horrible. When I replaced the ECU the battery stopped draining.

I know it isn't the ecu I've had the car for awhile i believe it may be short or the dumb ass old owner didn't know hoe to install anything since there were a lot of things not hooked up right
