Ok I purchased a blown e316g and am attempting to rebuild it to save a little cash. I purchased a good rebuild kit, and was following the write up by Jusmx in the tech section, but i am having some issues with the turbine shaft seal.
I have included some pics....
The seal just seems to large to fit in the groove. Everytime i go to install the shaft in the center section it pushes the seal all the way against the turbine wheel. I have checked and the grooves in the center section appear to be clean. I scraped the crap out of them. Any ideas or hints would be much appreciated. I need to get this thing going.
First pic is where i begin to install.
Second is how easy it pushes back.
Third is the center section.
The last pic is to just show the size of the seal compared to the gap.
Thanks
