Well it finnaly happend. Spun a bearing on number 2 cylinder. Only had about 35000 miles on the rebuild 2 years ago. Thankfully my buddy josh (shadowtsi) happend to be over at my spot when this happend. I swear this dude is a MONSTER with these engines. Well anyway here are some pics from the day I will update them periodicly.

Trying to take it in stride, it's not easy but im trying. Well we don't have a engine crane so were taking it down in pieces so we can just lift the block out by hand (being poor sucks) plus were just going to do a complete rebuild, ive got a complete set of internals sitting on the bench so I might as well just do a complete overhaul on it while it's out ya know? Ya know, the crazy part is a week before hand I switched to synthetic oil. Ive heard of this happening to other people before, don't know if theres any truth to it but I'll just go ahead and blame this whole thing on the oil and not two years of beating the living crap out of it...................

Well sounds like you are happy with the two years you beated on it.

I'd say two solid years of ass kicking is worth it

Oh dude, I totally feel your pain. My timing belt stretched apparently and the intake cam jumped a tooth and had to rebuild that last month and two days ago i spun a bearing too. Totally sucks. But at least i will have a new motor....almost 2.5k later (which i don't think is too bad considering that includes labor and a damn good warranty).

I feel your pain brother. My headache just got bigger! Alright guys I need an answer pretty fast here I gotta get this damn thing put back togher asap. I totaly forgot about the thrust bearing from last time I rebuilt this sucker so I ordered the thrust bearing for a 92.5 to 97.5 block with the one piece bearing and forgot that I had used a 98 block ( I know, realy frickin stupid!)(which somehow came out of a 94 talon) which has a 3 piece thrust bearing set up. Now can I get away with using the one piece thrust bearing set up, the bearing slides into the block nicely but not onto the girdle, I have a spare bearing that I put into the girdle for now but I am not sure if this "redneck rigging" will work or not. I am guessing that I am going to have to go to satan and pay out the back side for another set of bearings for a 3 piece setup. Alright gurus do your thing!

Well Ive ran out of finances to finish the engine. Ive got a new refurbished crank, pistons, full gasket set etc etc etc. but am missing a few critical but expensive parts, I think i'm at the point where I am just going to say screw it, cut my losses and walk away. This was my main source of transportation and now I have to bum rides to work from my little brother. Not to complain and I know some body with nothing better to do is going to flame me here (as so many people like to do) but I don't get it, people in my family are f%^&*#g weird, I'm the only one (very small family) that can hold a job, run a house, take care of and look after a sick mother, care for a wife, pay all my OWN bills and still have time to work a second job to pay my mother's rent and somehow I'm the p.o.s. irresponsible loser because I have an engine spin a bearing? What is wrong with people? I love it though, my mother's hippy boyfriend, all 39 yr's old of him (only a few years older than me) hasn't had a job in 4 years, get's his mother to buy his cars, clothes and game systems has the nerve to tell me that I'm the irresponsible one, and then ask's 30 minutes later to borrow 50 bucks to go to walmart with b/c he spent all the money his mommy gave him! Guys / girls I realy know yall don't give two craps about any of this and mods please feel free to delete this if you feel it necessary. But I just feel like I'm at wits end here. I mean this p.o.s. blew through a redlight and wrecked my car last year as some of you may remember, refuses to pay for that, kills the car my little brother and I bought for our mother in less than three months and tells me I'm the P.O.S. is this guys major malfunction? I'm not trying to blame all this on him but this dude is a major thorn in my side right now. sigh.........anyway I'm just venting I guess. Got nowhere else to. I know it's just a car but when it means an elderly woman can't make her doctor appointments or get to pulminary therapy sessions it becomes a big deal! Here's the best part, Mr. "hippy's" "mommy" sent him another 2500 dollars CASH in a big manilla envelope to go buy a car with so mom can get to her Dr. appts. no dice. Dude goes out buys a new computer, rifle and a "bigger" tv set. what a piece of work. So now every time she has to go to a Dr's appt I have to rent a car (cant use little bro's car bc it's too low for her and she cant get in or out) I know the bible says God won't put more on you than you can handle but at this point I'm thinking I have too much on my plate and no one seems to give two craps or even care to listen. I mean I have my wife and little brother but the wife is too caught up in her soap opera's and bon bon's to get it (yes I am Al Bundy ) and little bro is maxed out with his own crap (divorce, custody battle etc.) look guys and gals I'm sorry for venting here but Iv'e got nowhere else to vent besides putting my head through a wall. anyway. GO AHEAD FLAME AWAY YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.........

I've been hitching rides for 8 months now because of my GSX which is my DD. It sucks but it should be running soon.

Eh, you can't walk away from the car. Put $20 here and there back and get it running again.

As for the guy... I'd wreck him. Simple as that. Screw the consequences. With that amount of bullshit I'd make sure he paid for every damned thing he abused/broke in the past who knows how many years.

But that's just me.

Right on! that's what little brother and I were saying unfortunately dude's an ex cop so, yeah he's got a few friends in high places. I mean we have got alot of friends in low places but...... I don't think it would turn out so good for us I mean this dude's got frickin Detective's PERSONAL numbers in his phone on speed dial! talk about having disaster written all over a situation. I think he was discharged from the force for a bad shooting if I remember correctly or something to that effect. Not that I'm affraid of the guy but I DO have a VERY healthy respect for the LVMPD.

Who's property are you on? Cause if it's your moms and she won't press charges on you.. Do it. I mean, Stomp his ass. From just the little bit I've read of the guy, I'd have gotten fed up with him the moment I met him.

HAHA! Right! Nah the wife and I have our own place, but they did move into the same complex as us On a side not I did finally get the parts to complete the job! Made a trade or two with a buddy!

Mobile internet my friend, mobile internet! On a side note though, did have a minor setback with the build. When I dropped in the crank, girdle and rods I ran into a slight issue, the assembly was binding pretty nasty so I pulled everything appart and mic'd everything. Rod number two (that spun that God blessed bearing) had turned into an egg shape only visible with a micrometer. I could have saved myself alot of time and frustration if I would have done this in the first place. I know better than that and shouldn't have rushed. So now Ive gotta wait another day while the rod gets reconned at the machine shop. Thank God it's only 15 bucks for a recon. Well hopefully if the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise I'll get this little bastard up and running soon.
