As soon as I win the lotto, I'm working there on a complete volunteer basis. Doing such things such as taking out the trash and stuff to give you more time. Since of course, everything beyond taking the cover off the ecu would probably be over my head. Lol.

So guess I may as well buy an EBC this week since boost control won't be done for awhile I guess huh? Dang.

Wonder how short that list is, and I don't know if that's for the full version only or if it applies to Lite as well. I hate MBC's. I wanna be able to adjust from the cockpit at anytime. I'll pay the extra amount for less of a hassle, but if it's gonna be in Link soon then nevermind. Just dunno which version it'll be applied to and when.

I suggest if you want to pick up an EBC for now just get a used one that is popular for another platform. That way when you're done done with it because ecmlink gets boost control you can sell it at little or no loss.

Well, don't lemme hijack this thread. Was just wondering about it though.

But on topic, how bout some "gauges" on the screen? GPS of some sort maybe? I saw a program that had this and you could see where your readings were at while at a certain point on a track (I guess this would be for the auto-x guys or if you drive the same route everyday and wanna see what changes were made, etc.) Just some ideas. But I think you said something about wishing you hadn't asked for those. Lol.

Gauges have been on the list for a while too. Just not on the "high priority" list. I think offline logging will come before gauges do.

Full "3D" boost control would be in our full package only. Not sure if we'll put something simpler into lite or not. Maybe just a duty cycle table vs. RPM which, honestly, may work well for most anyway. Deciding that requires a lot of testing time we don't have yet. We'll play around with that as soon as we can.

I wouldn't expect to get the full 3d boost control on the Lite version. I'd be happy to just set my boost at 20 psi and it not spike to 25 to 30 psi. But then again, I'm not complaining regardless. I get plenty of features for what I paid. But if boost control is an option, I'll spend my money on a water/air intercooler setup instead of boost controller when Thursday rolls around.

Reading through the Wiki and looking at screen-shots it seems like your programmable solenoid outputs are limited to EGR/BCS and FPS. I wonder why the Charcoal Cannister Purge solenoid isn't among them. With the output located where it is up on the firewall it's MUCH more convenient than the FPS for anything vacuum related. For example...I used to have my cyclone manifold activate off of the Purge solenoid. Due to a recent mix up my new chip has it on the FPS solenoid and it now requires about three times as much vacuum line to impliment. Even if you aren't using a pneumatic valve, using the Purge output would allow secondary systems to be bolted to the firewall and connect to the existing wiring harness without running wires from up by the fuse box. So why no Purge Solenoid control?

We left the Evap and BCS unallocated for future expansion. For example, we're adding boost control now on the BCS output. We're not sure exactly what we'll do with the Evap yet, but it's got hardware based PWM on the 2G, so we were leaning towards another PWM output like the BCS will be.

As for running more vacuum line, you've got me all confused. You can just run a single activation wire over where your solenoid wants to be. No need to run vacuum hosing anywhere. I'm also confused on how the Evap could be better from a vacuum source point of view because the FPR solenoid is physically located *right* behind the intake manifold.

ok is there a way to use ecmlink on non eprom ecu's??? that would be nice...

ok is there? or can there be a time that non eprom ecu's could be used with ecmlink v4? or in some way? that would be nice...

"3D" boost control is definitely on the table. We just do not have time right now. We can, seriously, just barely keep up with support, e-mail, production (we build every V3 module by hand), and ECU repairs right now. Videos, boost control, individual deadtimes and several other features are on our "to do" list.

We have someone new coming on board in a couple weeks, so please be patient. The problem with hiring more people is that a decent bit of management overhead comes along with it and, of course, there's the whole "salary" thing. :) Not to mention being unable to know if the volume will persist or not.

Time to bring in some interns Tom.

If you guys wanted to move into the Evo 6/7/8/9/10 platform, it might be an idea to just work on a GUI that works like ECMLink and produces a file that can then be flashed with existing methods (Openport cable and ECUFlash). It would at least get your foot in the door with that crowd.

On my GVR4 the FPS is located way up by the fuse box. I agree that perhaps it would be simpler if I just connected a secondary bit of harness and routed the signal to wherever, I just though that purge might be simpler since it's up on the firewall. I can definitely see why you'd hold it in reserve if it has PWM capabilities though. Thanks for explaining.

Don't worry, you have another future customer in me! :)

And I'm seriously considering of just getting lite so that I can start learning firsthand, and upgrade when needed.

Its a crazy economy and running a small business myself I totally understand how most of our vendors feel. Money's tight right now, but I'm looking forward to the day I can play with ECMLink. I've wanted it since v2, and v3 is even awesomer!

Keep up the good work!

ummmm yes please, but like posted before keep v3 and v3 lite as an option to and make v4 like your top end product.

i still have dsmlink v2.5 ( getting upgraded very soon ) but i love it and i have played around with my buddies v3 and yea the dramatic change ( for the better ) was incredible if you set out and actually got v4 up and running i would buy no doubt, i have always been a fan of dsmlink and ecmlink after using it.

so yes please go ahead and upgrade i cant wait!

Any sales going to be coming up them on the V3 products...? Looking to get Link soon,..

What is the speed of this upgrade going to be like compared to an evo 8 ecu?

Id still like to see some more videos and demos... you hear they are going to add some but still not up after 5 years (lights fire for more videos :) )
