I think you need to teach the genesis crowd what a compounded turbo does.. They seem to not get the concept since they all say your spool will be slow.

Looks amazing Paul!

But the weight of the full exhaust!? is it worth it!? LOL
Well, I've had the full 3" exhaust on there for a long time now, so simply adding a cut-out and another 24" of pipe wasn't really that much more weight or mass. BUT, I will say that the side exit portion is MUCH quieter than I had anticipated. That second turbine housing in the exhaust stream sure does act as a muffler by itself. I'm willing to bet that I do 95% of my driving with the cut-out open. Being that is dumps outside of the car's body, I don't get any nasty resonance, and so it's not too bad to drive with it open. The full exhaust is noticeably quieter, and it is nice to have for those days when I'm driving with a headache or when there's alot of cops around. But in all honesty, I plan to build another compound set-up this coming winter, and I'll more than likely ditch my full exhaust and do a side exit only on it. As quiet as it is with two turbine housings, it really almost is a waste having a full turbo-back that only gets used 5% of the time.

Looks amazing Paul!
Thanks Carlos! Also, check out this thread of you get a minute; it's basically all of the details of my evac set-up. :)

I have been tracking your progress and have also taken on a Compound turbo kit build. It is on a 2010 Genesis coupe 2.0t. Please check out my build thread.

Great build, man. And welcome to DSMtuners!
I'm very excited to see how yours performs.

Hopefully you won't mind is I critique your build a little bit. If it were me, I would opt for a larger turbine housing for the T3 turbo. With a .48a/r housing, I'm willing to bet it will really choke your flow in the higher RPMs. I would also recommend using that 60mm wastegate on the T3 turbo, and picking up a 44mm wastegate for the 42r.

Prove the haters and pessimists wrong! We all know compounding works great when set-up properly. Anyone that says otherwise is simply misinformed, confused, or ignorant on the subject.

LOL at the guy who thinks an ACT2600 is too stiff of a clutch for a daily driver. He must be a 105lb woman.
You would have received the same consensus here about 6 years ago. LOL As time progresses, the bar gets raised. Opinions change and bigger stuff becomes the norm. It's like that with any car platform.

I can still remember back when 16Gs were big street turbos, and 20Gs were for race cars. ROFL It's funny how times change. :)

I do have the car back together. I just need to tie up a small handful of loose ends before it's truely roadworthy. Parts should be in tomorrow, so I'll hopefully be fine tuning it on SD very soon. If all goes well, I'll try to hit up the dyno toward the end of this month.

Thanks, Andy. :hellyeah:

I hope not! I haven't experienced an AWD tranny failure yet, and I've got my fingers crossed! If I do wipe one out, I won't be surprised though. :p I'm lucky that I've got TRE about 40 minutes down the road. :thumb:

I was going to originally do the Gt28 but opt'ed for the t3 because of the choking flow issue. Will the exhaust side matter after the manifold bypasses the t3? I wanted quick spool but if it does restrict flow I will opt to upgrade exhaust side .68 a/r?

Definitely go for the .63 a/r housing instead. Your primary turbo (smaller turbo) needs to have a turbine housing and wastegate size to support the exhaust flow associated with the total amount of power you'll be making. That's why I recommend a larger turbine housing and the use of the 60mm gate on the T3 turbo.

You mean TMZ? LOL
I'm sure Tim does excellent work, but no, TRE of Kalamazoo is who I was referring to. They're just so close - it's difficult to justify using someone else. My current tranny is TRE build and I've been quite happy with it.

How did you plum the oil feed and return line? Did you T?
I feed my T4 turbo from the oil filter housing, and my 16G from the head. And I welded dual -10 bungs on the pan for individual returns.

Mine has a oil feed factory could I T it off or would it not be enough pressure for 2 lines?

If I didn't have a tial housing on my GT42 I would try out that SP spool valve as it nets similar gains without all the extra stuff. Looks like it def ended up being worth it to me.

Cool, that makes things easier. How much boost did you set the WG on the 16g? and the 60-1?
