Hey guys

I've been heavily involved in the Chicago area DSM scene for years now, but as of late August I'll be moving to Iowa City for school.

I'm not bringing the dirty whore over there, but I still am curious what the scene is like there.

So, do any other DSM'rs attend the school or live in the area?

I'm in Ames, not IC, but I have to say that the scene's pretty decent here in Iowa.

There're quite a few owners in the Des Moines area, which prompted a bunch of us to start the Diamond Star Tuner Association, or DSTA. We know the site sucks, and we're working on that.

We've got members from all over Iowa, a there are clumps of us that knew each other from other functions, like SCCA, more localized meets, etc. I'm sure there're general car enthusiast groups in IC, but this, as far as we know, is the only fully DSM group in Iowa.

Our next meet is going to be at Easter Lake in Des Moines on the 9th. Details are on the site, if you're moved in by then and would like to join us.

sax_man goes to U of I, so you might want to talk to him about the scene over there, he'll know more than I do.

Bringing it back ALIVE! I brought my daily driver 2G AWD Talon to school this year, I've seen a few dissums here and there but nothing too crazy.

We are in Davenport, Ia. We have about 12 DSMs in our group. Plenty more driving around

i go to school at iowa central in fort dodge. but my gsx is at home in waukon iowa

Forgot about this thread. I have a house off Lucas and Burlington street, right on campus. I drive a Maroon '95 AWD, just bolt-ons. The 1g beast is still collecting dust in my Chitown garage, there was no way that thing would survive here.

I've seen only a handful of DSMs in the Iowa City area myself. Been keeping an eye out for over 10 years. Truthfully I think your maroon eclipse is one of the few I've seen recently Kraka, I drive by that intersection almost every day.

It'd be nice to see more local posters, I know we're not the only ones here! Met anyone else locally outside of the forums with any interest in your cars?

There some in davenport here, so are good some arent. I just got mine back on the road so time to start modding

theres a car show may 1st at the isle casino in waterloo... i plan on goin but idk if my eclipse will make it... the motor is going in this week and hopefully will be firing up 2maro... any locals headed up that way hit me up... 319-551-9900

Interesting. None of those meetups sound that close. I was hoping to find more IC area DSM'rs but it just doesn't sound like there's really a scene.

I'm in the Quad Cities for an internship this summer, and maybe full time next year around this time. Anyone want to meet up for a cruise or anything? I brought my DSM back from the dead, so it's nothing special, but she's running

I'm in Iowa City, but my crankshaft broke on the 4th piston/rod. I will be rebuilding for this Spring.

A few of us Iowa car folk got together last week at Buffalo Wild Wings, we'll probably meet up again when it warms up. This local forum is usual where we setup the get togethers Iowa Auto Forums . The dsm's around us need to represent!
