Need some pics of your fabbed up down pipes for your Holets.

There is a guy on ebay that sells an outlet plate that allows you to weld up a 3" downpipe. Fits nice and gets rid of the "V" clamp style. It also has a whole located directly over the WG that will allow you to hold it shut to run an external.

I got a few pics here... LOL

Is that the BEP housing or stock holset housing. Yeah in that last pic it looks like the dp is touching the aternator. How close is it.

Yeah, this is the BEP T3 housing. The DP itself was about 1" away from the alternator.. Then the alternator went bad and I changed it/ used a rebuilt unit... It didn't go bad due to being very close to DP... After I put the new alternator everyting was OK for a while. The problem with the new one was, that the plug was sitting extremely close to the DP and the stud for the power wire, wasn't touching, but close to the DP.....

Then I developed a small exhaust leak.. Iwas like WTF everything is brand new and the cars started missing sometimes @ MID RPM's.. I was :confused::confused:

One day I decided to tremove the DP to see WTF is going on. I removed the heat wrap and see for yourself:

Alternator was arcing onthe DP, where you see the biggest hole. In reality actually it had exactly 2 small, very round holes right next to each other... It developed a crack from there...

^^^This when I decided to relocate the alternator.. I highly suggest anyone, to relocate th alternator and THEN fabricate the DP.. The cost of another alternator is the same as the Jay Racing reloc. kit.... Not to mention that you could make the bend of the DP smoother, cause you are going to have more room. I put the custom heat shield around turbine housing after that incident and noticed at least 3-5*C lower coolant temps, even in summer.

91stocker, the heat wrap, does work , but still over time the heat will kill the alternator.. Better move it, as I said for the above mentioned reason.

Bolton housing with ebay tubular o2 housing modified for a recirculated external gate. Yes my welds are gasless too :sosad:

Can i use my megan racing 3" downpipe if I use the DSM BEP housing? Does the stock o2 housing work?

That exhaust flange shown in the above picture is what I was talking about in my first post. The allen headed bolt that you see holds the WG shut so you can run the external without a problem.
