Ok guys i just got my car registered the other day. i was told it needs to go for emssions. Heres my problem car is a 1999 mitsu mirage. The car has ben swaped with a 6bolt and all the goodies out of my talon. Bigger problem car should be ob2 but itsnt it was swaped with all 1g stuff so ob2 port is totally gone. i was told i will auto fail because of the port is there anything i can do? if not then im guessing i need to swap a 2g harness in...if that is the case i need to change the interior and motor correct?

To be a street car best bet would be to look into a fake/dummy ECU that reports readiness monitors, check engine lights, etc.

Whoever swapped it and ripped out the OBD2 port is an idiot.

Yeah i know tell me about it. any idea where i could get an ecu that would do that and a fake ob2 port?

jus its already running and the other problem is im running aem and i refuse to buy another one for a 2g! o yeah and id need a 2g cluster on top of that...or is there away to run the 1g aem with the 2g harness?

No idea.

Get a harness and ECU out of a '95-'99 DSM and make it happen!

This would be a good starting point.

Otherwise you might have to register it under a special license. (Hobbyist? I believe). You can only drive on the street certain days though.

I don't know your state laws, but can you do emissions with an exhaust sniffer instead of OBDII plug? I'd ask around to see if they will let you use the sniffer as a surrogate test. If that is absolutely out of the question, dummy ECU would be a lot easier than doing the whole harness.

Good luck!

exhaust sniffer is used only if the car is 95 and older

yeah this has become a big cluster you know what....can someone tell me if i do go crazy and use a 2g engine harness do i have to change the interior harness?
