New, I have 5k and want to build a GSX to 500whp. HELP?

I just bought a 95 GSX, Now I'm reading all this junk about the 7-bolt. So i tried quite a few searches turned up nothing helpful. My question is what can i do with the 7-bolt?3 what mods do I start with? I want to build a 500whp street/canyon car. I had an 03 Evo which had a gt35r, HKS 272's, header, buscher racing full 3" exhaust etc. The car haled ass, how different is the Evo 4G63 from the GSX 4G63 what mods do i start with? Its been long since i have played with a DSM :) So any way with all the problems about with the 7-bolt can they be fixed what do i do? I wanna run a gt35r again so what cams, rods pistons, head do i go with thanks for the help guys:hellyeah:

EDIT: I have 5k $ built up for this but i love to save money so if you guys can link me to performance shops or parts company's that will help very much, Is there a sponsors page I can not find one
 
7 bolts arent bad, people over exageratew things on dsm's. The evo 4g63 has stornger internals, more agressive cams, and a bigger turbo. 5k should build a very fast dsm

click on marketplace and go to dsm supporting vendors

i reconmend ross pistons, 1 g rods, and im not sure on cams
 
i would say a set of 280's would be sufficient and go ahead and get v3 full and some 1150cc injectors or so. 1mm oversize valves with matching springs retainers and locks to your choice of cams.
 
pump gas? race gas? e85 in your area?

water/meth injection? nitrous?

youll have to start with basic maintenance
 
get a 2.3 or 2.4, seeing how you want to do canyon running, the easily make 500 hp and will respond excellent with your choice of turbo, and can be built for 5k and have a little money in the bank, I'd go with a set of kelford cams 272s, with manley rods, and arias pistons...but thats just me

Where can those kelford cams be found for cheap, does anyone know?
 
It sounds as though you have a lot to do! People will tell you there preference all day long and everyone has there op. Here is a link to the upgrade paths on this site you chose what you want and it shoots you in a general direction. Tech Guide - DSMtuners This should help you some and for brand preference do your research. You will see it wont take long reading the forums to find out what holds up and what doesn't.

That in a nut shell could get you over 500hp, (Engine wise)

Ill let you figure out the cost of not blowing your transmission and T-case all to hell
