This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

Okay, THAT is the reason it broke. Slamming gears tears up more than the bushings. It will not only break bushings on the shifter, but also bushings on the transmission, shift forks, Synchros, Gears, input bearings and so forth.

A friend of mine with a honda shifted hard as well. He kicked the clutch, slammed the gears etc etc.

His fly wheel was in 3 pieces, his clutch was held together by the springs tangled in the bracket, his trans fluid sparkled and he had NO synchros in first, second, third, fourth, or Reverse. Not to mention he replaced multiple master and slave cylinders, Throw out bearings...

There is NO need to SLAM the gears in these cars, especially on a 1g. You're gonna end up with a paperweight.

Well.. Unless you have a brand new transmission. ^_^

Thanks for the input, but I said sort of hard....more like spirited shifting or fast shifting. I got 95,000+ on a stock clutch....so I'm gonna replace everything in there soon......

Didnt see anything on sheps website bout the nylon bushings. Me too is interested in these bushings.

Alll three of my dsms eventualy cracked that platic bushing. Its plastic.....its bound to give out sometime. I can't believe someone has not made a metal one for it.....

I want to say one other thing, I don't abuse my cars, I enjoy them.

still no word on where to pick this piece up, in aluminum maybe?

Hi

1997 GSX

The lights that light up my rear-plates was just gone one day, so i figured they needed new bulbs.

I put my hand up underneath and felt that they had rusted off and fallen "inside" the back of the car

I've checked the Eclipse EPC ( that i could find ) but then again the language barriers come into play

Two of my friends have a 96 and a 97 GS , they have the same problem. Rear plate-lights have rusted away and fallen into the car.

Whats the name of the part that's rusted away? Some sort of metal plate to hold them up i s'pose?

I wouldn't bet on a vendor being able to get it. I justg made 2 little L brackets for my lights.

cool thnx, yea i was actually thinking of just removing the corroded area and just attach/weld something back on there ...?

im asking about everything since im a newbie =) better safe than sorry

You don't even need that part for the license plate. It's just good for the lights. Easy enough to just make something if you can't find the original part anywhere.

That is possibly the funniest, yet creepiest thing I have seen in my entire life...

So begins the zombie apocalypse...

That bird will "die" shortly. Chickens when their head is lost will continue to walk around for about a minute. There is no esophagus or blood getting to the brain. It's still up because the spinal cord was not damaged allowing it to act "normal" until the brain shuts down or the heart stop.

Alright at the end of my automatic crank is a insert for centering up the torque converter. i guess its an auto's version of a pilot bearing, but i cant get it out of my crank and i need to put it on my new engine.

where can i buy one? what is it called? i checked with the online OEM Mitsu parts and its not in any of the exploded view diagrams.
