Ok so my buddy has a 95 TSI with a 6bolt swap, We have tried everything but it still hits 20psi. I have tried putting my MBC on there but that did nothing. tried to put it straight from the turbo to the j pipe and still hits 20lbs. switched out boost gauges thinking his was broken and still nothing. switched out waste gates that did not work. switched out dumptubes and nothing. I am lost on why it is doing this. He has a small 16g turbo, megan dump tube, pacesetter manifold.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions ?

have you checked your vacuum lines? and made sure they are properly routed?

Yes we have a number of times, we even re-routed using the BCS.

Sounds like boost creep, common problem with a 16g and 3" exhaust.

He bought the s16g as he thought that his ebay big16g was bad as it did it with that turbo, and i have his ebay turbo on my TSI and i do not hit over 10lbs with my MBC, yes the ebay turbo spools slow but LOL.

I as well thought it was boost creep, the waste gate opens at 10lbs you can hear it on the dump tube.

the funny thing is i did a BLT and he had a ton of leaks so we fixed them all besides the throttle body seal's as they are leaking. I was like how the heck are you hitting 20lbs with all them leaks.

i was having the same problem so i took it to a shop and they said its a common problem for the 16gs he said u have to get the exhaust housing ported and a 34mm wastegate flapper put in then u can control it:thumb :

Even on the stock 14b as well ? I'll give it awhirl and see what happens. :D

All you have to do is just install a lighter foot!

Tell him that. haha. yeah but it kinda is a pain in the rear to control the boost with you're foot.;)
