Can anyone confirm what years and models have compatible wiring harnesses? (I've seen older threads that I don't have permission to update, or aren't relevant to my question)

Here's my issue...
I have a 95 Eclipse GST and the owner before me re-wired alot of the interior wires behind the steering column and under it. There are a lot of wires that got melted together and it's a complete disaster. I don't know what caused this guy to go through and screw everything up, but I'm having issues with the CD player turning on with no key in the ignition, when I turn headlights on, brights come on too, but half-way, and drain power. There's no in between. My whole gauge cluster is dim. I'm not sure if a chassis wire harness would rectify this issue entirely, but I don't think it would hurt.

Please advise, thanks.

Edit: I've purchased a repair guide for the wiring diagrams, and etc. I'm planning on taking the dash out and seeing the total effect of damage sometime soon, as I'm just now selling my daily.

If you have melted wires touching, its causing shorts everywhere unplug the battery to stop further damage from occurring. Chances are a lot of fuses may be blown at this point... Re-wire it which you need to make sure everything is soldered, or worst case scenario replace the harness from a junkyard car, I have a parts car but its a GS non turbo (99). Let me know, I couldn't tell you if it would or wouldn't work though.

Check out michaelsonauto.com or call them at 800-352-4892 and request a quote on a chassis wire harness. It is not listed in their inventory search but if you use the website it gives you the option to request any parts not listed and they will check availability. They will also be able to tell you which years and models are interchangeable. Most of the time if they don't have what you need in stock, they will search other yards or give you suggestions of where you might find the part.
I have dealt with them for years and they are very helpful when looking for parts for most makes and models, including DSM. Hope they have what you need. Good luck.

Alright cool, I'll keep that website in mind if I determine the harness is what I need.

It would be nice to know for future reference though, to know what the compatibility is between Talons/Eclipses, TSi/ESi/GS/GST/GSX, 95-96 and 97-99s
