Hey guys,

Alright, so I have a quick question. I've tried searched and all I keep yielding up are "1g N/A to turbo engine swaps."

I know the head is identical on 4g63s of the 1g generation, but are there any block differences by chance? There's a 92 GS w/a 4g63 that is blown up. I have a 91' 4g63t that I was wondering if that would drop in just fine. So far the only thing I can see is different are the internals and performance wise, a 7.8:1 compression ratio vs. 9:0:1. Did I miss anything, and is it a straight forward swap?

Thanks!

I have never had a problem swapping the 4g63 into another 4g63 car. ive swapped old into new and new into old and they all have hooked up the same for me. i have never worked internally on one but externally they have all been the same for me.

The turbo block has oil squirters and a knock sensor. Neither of those would cause you problems running NA. If you going to stay NA you really want to swap pistons, 7.8:1 CR is no fun without boost.

i never seen a 2g gs n/t 4g63, i know they are 420a which is a totally different motor.

But the 92' is a 1g right?

Anyway, that's really what I was looking for. Just bolting up issues are what was interesting me. Thank you!

like steve said its the same just no knock sensor and oil squirters on the n/a but the compression is different to. other than that its the same but a non turbo 2g will not accept the 4g63 unless you use a evo8 motor and so on.

yes 90-94 is 1g 95-99 is 2g so a 4g63 will drop right into any 1g no matter if it was a 1.8 car to start with or anything.

...if you are referring to the car he is trying to swap into...its 1g (92 gs 2.0)

OH GOD, wth did i say LOL sorry i was a little drunk when i posted i dont know why the hell i was thinking 95 :ohdamn: :ohdamn: :ohdamn: i feel stupid.
