How can I tell if I'm runnin lean? This A/F gauge I hooked up is useless. Can you hook up a wide band O2 sensor to the A/F gauges that lite up?Will that work?Any input on the subject will help,Thanx.:hmm:

It might come on if the A/F ratio is out the oxygen sensors range during open loop. I wouldn't rely on that though, it would be best to correct the issue and get a wideband O2 setup, or maybe some type of datalogger to at least monitor knock.

I just found a wideband kit at horsepower freaks.com.AEM UEGO wideband kit$199. It says does not oscillate like narrowband gauges.Does anybody know if this kit will work with 420A W/T.Ijust need something to watch a/f mixture.stock injectors ,Blox 12:1 FMU,Blox bpv,7lbs boost,255 walbro HP.stock internals.

It sounds like it would work as long as it comes with the gauge. If you could provide a direct link I can verify that it will work. You would need to have a bung welded into your exhaust in order to install the sensor, just keep that in mind.

I allready welded a bunge for my stock sensor in my down pipe. Its about 1foot down from my turbo. Can I just put my wideband sensor were my stock one is.I've heard it must be 3 ft from the turbo, but thats were my cat is(3 in magnaflo). If I cant put it were my stock sensor is,can I maybe put it after the cat or will that screw up the reading?I'm pretty cofussed were to put it.

The sensor should be at least 18" from the turbo, and before the catalytic converter. If you choose to put it where the stock O2 sensor is you would need to connect the narrowband output of the AEM UEGO to your ecu's O2 sensor input. The narrowband output simulates what a factory O2 sensor would be doing so the ecu can adjust fueling during open loop.

So your definately saying that it can be done?I spoke to the AEM dealer and they told me I needed a seperate bung and had to be at least 10 inches from the turbo.I heard so many different things, I don't know what to do.

As far as I know, the AEM UEGO doesn't have a simulated narrowband output. So, no, you will need your stock O2 sensor, and your wideband.
Your stock O2 sensor sends a 0-1v signal, .5v being stoich. The wideband sends a 0-5v signal, 2.5v being stoich. So, you can't just switch the wires.
Just get the new bung welded in, and you're good to go. There's specs in the instruction manual that will tell you exactly how far away it needs to be from the turbo. If I recall correctly, it says 36". Although, I doubt it actually has to be that far. It also needs to be in the top 180* of the exhaust.

so if I weld it in like 2 or 3 inches upstream from my rear o2 sensor I should be ok?Thanx for helping, this has been driving my nuts!So your saying I cant put it in the side of my pipe?It must go down through the top?
