I had a run in with a curb on my 2g talon tsi awd a couple of weeks ago and have been gradually replacing my rear end parts on the right side of my car. I have replaced many parts but the last one i need to swap out is my lower control arm, the one that attaches to the sway bar. I have everything but the bolt in the back out that holds it in, the bolt to the sway bar and hub are out though. I cannot get the bolt in the back out, i have the nut off but the bolt is hitting against the gas tank and wont pull far enough out for me to remove the arm. Im thinking of dropping the subframe about an inch to see if that gives me enough play to remove the bolt or even the arm, it doesent need much to get it out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I also have the exact same question! It looks to me as though the only way to get enough room for that bolt to clear the tank is to lower the sub frame (Crossmember). If you have discovered an alternate way please let me know.

Thanks!
