ok so my wifes car blew her t25... so i put my freshly rebuilt 14b into her car. Now it drives awsome and pulls hard running wastegate only 10psi but every once and a while it will hit fuel cut in second and third. THere are no boost leaks i pressure tested and repaired all of them now it takes about a minute to go down to 5-6 psi and lingers there for several minutes but it still hits fuel cut a 10psi.:banghead:

Do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? The boost may be creeping up higher than 10 psi. Is there an aftermarket exhaust on the car? It shouldn't be hitting fuel cut with that low of boost. You could also have a vacuum leak somewhere. Just a couple ideas.

+1 on replacing plugs/wires and checking the coil pack to make sure it's not going bad

We drive old cars. Perhaps with the better flow along with the age of the car the fuel pump is having trouble keeping up with the airflow? Whats the fuel pressure looking like on the fuel rail?

her car is all stock... the plugs and wires are brand new. fuel pressure is stock. but how do any of those have anything to do with fuel cut??? Fuel cut is actually caused by the ECU seeing more air entering the engine than it was originally programmed to use. This likely cooresponds with an injector duty cycle which is unsafe or unattainable. So basically fuel cut is caused by the MAF seeing too much air. im just triing to figure out what is causing the engine to see to much air at 10 psi when i have no boost leaks....

Did you mess with the MAF at all?

Well how are you completely sure its fuel cut??

Maybe the MAF is bad and its misreading the air flow!
Your not providing much for anyone to give you a solid answer!!

I would try testing you ignition system.. coil packs, PT, plugs, wires, CAS!
Test you fuel pump, maybe its lossing power to feed fuel at higher air flow!
and Test you injection system to see if its all in working order!

No will never find out by just asking!

fuel cut is not caused by any component of the fuel delivery system. however if they are bad you can lose power and cut out under boost. check plugs, wires, coil, maf, tps, etc. anything that is an input to the ecu that calculates airflow will cause fuel cut. injectors and fuel pump are more of output devices and the ecu has no way of knowing these are failing. not saying you shouldn't check those things, but if it really is fuel cut, it can't be in the fuel delivery.

my car would cut out at like 6 or 7 lbs. i replaced the plugs and wires and it cured it. everyone told me it was probably fuel cut.

i just replaced the plugs and wires before starting this post along with testing the coils, tps, switching out the maf with a known good one and still know change i normally cover all the basics before posting the problem i am kinda looking for something that i may not have thought of...
what would the map sensor cause fuel cut if it is faulty but the car still drive fine with no problems?
and yes it is fuel cut i know the difference between a miss fire and fuel cut...

What plugs are you running? i had a 2g with the 14b swap and i seemed to hit what i thought was fuel cut after the swap. turned out to be the Autolite plugs i was running even though they were fairly new and properly gapped. NGK:)

no it is fuel cut... its not the bov it is a greddy and it is not leaking i have already done a boost leak test. it was done right after install as the first way of troubleshooting the issue. and the plugs are brand new ngk's gaped at .028

check and make sure all injectors are working properly? On most scanners or loggers you can shut each one down. Not the best way to check but good for the lazy male :)

do you have a logger?

dont mod without looking and compairing log's
