First, let me start off by saying I searched, and did not find any situation that exactly matched mine, hence the new thread. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

So, I recently got my GST tuned at a shop here in Hawaii. It put down 285whp/283tq at 13 psi on a moderate Dynapack tune. The car ran well for about a month, until one day my wife was driving it and it died on her on the freeway. She said it leaned out up to about 16.8, then the car shut off. She gave it a few minutes, got it to start up, and limped it home.

Just so it's out there, my wife BABIES my Eclipse. She hardly ever hits boost, so I know it wasn't her running the piss out of it. Long story short, I took my CEL checker and read the code.

Error Code: P0202
* Fuel injector 2 is damaged or has failed

I called up RC Engineering and ordered another P&H 750cc injector. I got the injector installed, and now the car runs well, up until boost. As soon as I hit boost, the car builds about 2 psi, at around 3300 rpms, and then starts to sputter and spit. If you drive it without hitting boost, it drives fine  I took it back to the guy that tuned it (tuned on an Apexi Neo, with an AEM Digital A/F guage) and he checked the tune and all the settings. All seems to be in order. I can't figure out for the life of me what it may be. He suggested it may be the MAF?

I'm at a loss for now, any input would be greatly appreciated! :hellyeah:

Check your spark plugs, more specifically the #2 spark plug. If everything looks good, including the gap on them then do a boost leak test (BLT).

If you don't mind me asking, why do you have dsmlink and run the SAFC?

:dsm:

So, my wife had all the spark plugs checked by the shop where the car was tuned, and my tuner Shawn said the plugs are still in good working order, and are gapped properly. The only thing I can really think of is maybe I have a boost leak? A worn coupler or a rotten vacuum line? Any thoughts?

Do you have a WB installed in the car? You said it starts to sputter and spit, on your WB it should show it going really rich. The first thing I'd do, if it were my DSM, is perform a BLT (boost leak test)...

I know you said nobody on the island tunes with dsmlink and thats why your still running the SAFC but, not only does dsmlink work better for tuning it also assists in troubleshooting. I know you already paid to have it tuned but if it were me I'd use the dsmlink support forums and get my car running using link. Just install it once you get back from deployment and sell your SAFC/logger setup... :)

Anyway, do a BLT and post up the results... I suggest NOT letting a shop do this because they might not be as thorough about it or even care. Doing a BLT while your deployed and your wifes taking care of the car makes it kind of hard to do it yourself though.

Well, after more than a month of absence, Im back. Due to a death in the family, Im home in Hawaii handling estate matters. I'll be home for two weeks, so I'm at least going to get something productive done. I got under the Eclipse today, just to poke around, and found my crank pulley wobbling itself off. So I finally said enough's enough. I'm getting her picked up by rollback in the morning and carted up to Mitsubishi. Im going to have them put the pulley back on, and check timing, then check all the injectors, and do a boost leak test. If all that is inconclusive, Im going to need responses or brainstorming from you guys... help a brotha out? :rocks: I'll let yall know what happens.
