hey guys ive done some research and have seen a little but the only other guy i found with my issue said he fixed it no problem but he never posted how. so i was driving down the highway in 5th gear, i pressed the gas about 1/4th throttle and started to switch lanes when all the sudden my rpm's just shot up. it didnt make any weird noises, no grinding or anything. so i went to 4th and nothing then to 3rd and nothing! i slowed way down and got 2nd. so i have 1st second and reverse but no 3rd 4th or 5th. i called john sheppard and they said they have never heard of losing three gears before so has anybody on here ever had this issue?

Check your shifter cables and if they are good then suspect the trans. If I remember right hose three gears are not on the same shaft so that's usually a bad sign

If only 1-2 is working and the trans fluis is clean, checkthe left to right cable arm on the trans while a friend wobbles your shifter

well if you can get into 1st and 2nd the cables wont be broke, since it uses both of them to shift in those gears. you might have stretched them out somehow and 3,4 and 5 are just tougher to get into and with the stretched cable it wont go in. more then likely you'll be looking for a new trans though...

Same thing happened to me in my gsx, I know it sounds weird but do a crankwalk test, leave the car alone for a day or 2, have a friend get in your car, put your hand on the crank and have him push in the clutch, if your crank moves out you have crankwalk and its putting pressure on ## (I bet aftermarket clutch) and screwed your gears. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but you have a very expensive road ahead... pm me with your number if you want more help and what I did. Good luck

well i seriously hope it isnt that! but ive already been searching for a new trans. they are just really exspensive

i found i have a busted tranny mount today, it's the main mount and it is completly broken off the trans. think this may be causing the issue?

i got so lucky today!! i found a 96 tsi at a "U PULL IT" yard with 133k on the clock and a smooth shifting trans and i got it for 115 along with a good looking clutch and pressure plate and a throttle body!! i think i came out like a bandit! :hellyeah:
