Problem #1: You'll have a hard time fitting that in place of a 420A if you're talking about the 2G in your profile.

Problem #2: For not much more you can buy a built block from many of the vendors, or for less money than they want for the JDM engine you could build your own.

Included items:
-Engine
-5speed AWD Transmission
-Uncut Wireharness
-ECU

Imported from Japan
Compression Tested
Guaranteed Low Mileage
Warranty Available

quite worth it IMO

oh yeah this is for my 2 ga talon tsi( which is just the shell) not my 420a talon. yeah i could buy a built one but whats the fun in that..theres more pride in an engine built by yourself atleast i think so. plus if it is a true amg engine it will be a rare thing to have, somthing different. but ive read that amg engines were non turbo found on jdm galants but just wondering if or maybe they built a turbo version.?

Included items:
-Engine I would hope so.
-5speed AWD Transmission ....normally with different gear ratios than U.S. cars. Useless to most DSMers.
-Uncut Wireharness Junkyard item....$50 or less, and completely unneeded for the swap.
-ECU Unless it's EPROM, it's worth $50.

Imported from Japan NOT where our cars are made.
Compression Tested It's easy to write random numbers down.
Guaranteed Low Mileage Right...anywhere from 60k-120k.
Warranty Available ...for additonal $$. Hooray.

quite worth it IMO
Fixed.

Sorry, I don't buy into the whole "JDM, YO" thing for DSMs. I'd rather save money and build my own.

I don't understand what you're arguing here...I'm saying you could build your own for less using performance parts, but you're insisting on buying a stock JDM engine which is already assembled.

Right, because swapping a spark plug cover is such a difficult task. I'm banking on the supplier bolting the AMG plug cover on this engine and adding $250 to the asking price.

thats why im asking if anyone has any info if it is a amg tuned engine. i dont have a spare engine to build. i wasnt trying to argue ,sorry if it irrittaded some..just want to know more about this engine. i k now it could just be a cover bolted on there. if it is i will just look for a 6 bolt somewhere else.

Well....

Looks like you better continue your search for a 6-bolt.

Or you could buy this one from me.ROFL
No linking to your sale ads in the forums....and did the machine shop forget to hot tank the engine internals or did you build that in your garage in one evening?

Nothing special about the JDM engine. You get a better looking valve cover (yay) and good luck hooking up that god awful cyclone manifold and getting it to work right if thats what you get. You will prob get a 16G that SHOULD be rebuild even though it has "low miles" and a nice set of 560cc that you cant even use to max out that turbo with. Now your looking to get bigger injectors and if you upgrade your going to need to anyways. If its even the EVO3 trans that would be nice but for it to work without distroying your drivetrain you would have to find a EVO3 rear end for it if you didnt want to tear apart your trans to make it work. Good luck!!

Over all just save the headache and look for a 6 bolt bottom end from a member and build it right. IMO I think the JDM motor is a waste because there really is no difference and they mark up the price because they know dumb kids will buy them after watching stupid shit like Fast & the Furious. I prefer to live my life a 1/4 mile at a time without spending twice the price. :nono:

LOL well seems like u liked the movie. well i dont plan on making over 350hp,,not for awhile. i cant find any 6bolts around my area. 560s and a 16g would be good enough for my goals. i know i cant use the trans or ecu most likely they are 1g componets. but i guess buying a short block is an idea..

Yeah i went JDM , most of the stuff included ended up in a pile of spare parts including the ecu . Kinda a waste of money .the harness in the 2g was made to fit all the sensors and stuff anyways. If i had to do again id just get a 4g63 and build it up with all new internals and whatnot.
then just buy an eprom ecu and dsm link.

Ok so I admit it was an ok movie but you get my point. LOL Just be patient and look around on the forums, craigslist, and junkyards. If I would have known before what I know now I could have 2 badass DSMs running around after buying, trading, and switching setups. Just trying to help another DSMer out. :thumb:

Kind of the point I was trying to get out. Take this and look around for awhile and compare price and what you would be saving as well as the stuff you need and dont need.

Oh, sorry I didn't realize the rule. Whats wrong with the internals? Its been sitting in my garage for a little over a year but its been wrapped in plastic.

I didn't build it myself I got it from another guy a long time ago. I have the papers on it somewhere around here but I'll have to dig them up.
