Isn't the stock turbo a TDO5-12A?

I thought the 14G is an upgrade for them.
It is- I should've been more clear....the 14G is the stock turbo platform for a Starion / Conquest, much like a 16G is an upgrade turbo for the 1G's stock 14B platform.

Actually the more I look at the OP's turbo it may be an unmolested 12A, in which case it's not worth having except for a conversation piece.

if im not mistaken i think the 14b is better than the t25 and like i read on here the 14g is a little better than the the 14b

On the market to find a 16g, came accross a guy with a good deal, sent me these pictures.

Can anyone tell if its the real 16g or a fake/ebay turbo?

Definitely not a 16g. Couldn't tell you what it is though. The turbine outlet flange looks almost like off of a Holset.

SOOOOO, cant realy tell? Funny he mentioned it was BRAND NEW, but the pictures show otherwise

I knew it was too good to be true LOL. But if its not a rip off turbo and if it will bolt on then i guess i could go for it right?

yea not 16g but t3 something or other. may be a knock off but looks like a fairly decent turbo that could get some fairly serious power.

ok def not a 16g mhi, ebay, knockoff, nothing way too big. Dont quote me on this but it really looks like a HX40 blade PRO or something along that size/product line. Thats what it looks like to me def a holset but i would ask my boy justin to verify it to be 100% sure. Either send that pic to justin or wait for him to stop in here im sure he will know what specific one it is :thumb:

no it looks more of a h1c knock off... the inlet of the compressor housing is too small for a hx40!! And It looks to have a little oil or something on the exhaust turbine!!

The compressor wheel has the 16g type staggerd blades...doesnt look like a holset compressor... I think this is too small to be a holset.... but It sorta looks subaru as well... They do make a 16g for the subaru's ..maybe thats what it is.. (just a guess)

Holsets are one of the only turbos that mount the wastegate actuator to the turbine housing like that, but this is NOT a Genuine Holset turbo. Whatever it is, or whatever it's supposed to be....it's a Chinese knockoff for sure.

Stay away, it's not worth your time to custom-fit such a turbo which will probably last 400 miles.

Thx for the info guys. And yea I am looking to upgrade and thats one of the turbos i ran into.

Guy is local and apparently makes a living off of selling intercoolers and turbos. I just wasnt sure if it was the direct bolt on 16g or a knock off.

JUSMX141 says is a knock off so i guess is a nono for me LOL

back to the hunting.

I looked at the same turbo off of craigslist. Dude lives by the pawnshop, and has a 1g in the garage. It's not a mhi 16g, he tried to say it was a greddy 16g, but greddy uses mhi turbo's. He also said the number plate fell off. I measured the wheels, neither a 16g compressor, or td05h turbine. The hotside bolts on, like a garrett, or holset, not a mitsu clamp. To best describe it, it's a small ebay turbo, smaller than a 16g.
