I just don't understand how they work at an auto parts store but, don't even know about the most common auto brands. I also dislike when they don't listen to what you say and question it.
This is because the big chains do not care. They will hire anyone who can use a computer and work for minimum wage. They then cut the hours of the ppl who actually know something about cars because they "make to much money" an hour.
I'm slightly bitter because when O'reilly's bought CSK/Murray's, this is what they told me. They said they "could not afford my rate of pay." As if I made a ton of money to begin with! haha! Everyone in the store recieved a pay cut and hours cut. I'm still there, but I don't know for how much longer.
As for the OP's experience, that sucks the kid didn't know such a simple fact. However, I have run into many many, many a person that has no idea what kind of car they are driving.
