I have searched and have'nt found a good reference for a good clutch in the 400 to 450 hp range. I don't have HUGE budget, but I can spend around 200 to 300 bucks. Maybe act, southbend? Hell maybe even XTD. Let me know what you guys think!

Most people choose to go the ACT 2600 range with a street disc. Southbend DXD is another good choice w/ and ACT street disc. I would see which of those 2 fit your budget and go that route.

Wow, great info coming in. So going by the Jacks list a 2600 with a street disk would hold. Southbend seems like a great place as well. Im not sure how Southbend names their clutchs (2600 2100) etc. I don't care if the pedal is stiff, I just want something that will hook and not slip. I also have the basic ACT chrome moly flywheel that I will run.

As I recall, southbends pressure plates are all 2100lb and they change clutch disk material to change holding force. I have an act2600 PP paried with a southbend disk (segmented ceramic disk) because my ACT disk got ended. Give them a call to see what they can work out for you.

I bought a used act 2600 and put a new disk in it. It held till about 300 hp and then started slipping. Only under full boost and load - 4th gear. It was used so that may have been the problem, but there are a number of threads on tuners about problems with ACT. I replaced mine with SPEC stage 3+. So far it is working great.

I would recommend the South Bend Clutch SS-Series Pressure plate (heavy-duty pressure plate ~2100#), and the South Bend Clutch TZ-Series sprung, full-face Kevlar clutch disk.

They are excellent quality and can easily hold the power levels you are intending.

If you do a search for SBC clutches on this site, you will see that I have backed their products for years, and have had excellent luck with their products.

I have a southbend in my car and I love it, havent had a problem and they are easy to work with. Call southbend and ask for Andy, he can point you in the right direction and they stand behind their products

I usually deal with Jon or Andy, both great guys and they expedite my orders usually the same day and it takes around 2-3 days for them to ship directly to the customer.

Great service for sure!

I was looking at getting the Spec stage 3 clutch kit for a car im thinking about buying. $320 from MAP.

The SBC Kevlar full-face sprung disk works great with the ACT 2600 pressure plate.

I responded to your PM as well.
