Turbo Flanges & Gaskets, T6 / S400 Oil Drain Flange, RPS-T6ODF | RacePartSolutions.com

Does anyone know will these bolt to your oil pan, or where to get a bolt on flange for the pan, I would rather not have to weld a fitting to my oil pan?

Im pretty sure those fittings will bolt to the turbo but not the oil pan. A -12an line is too wide for a flange to still be bolted to the pan. The line would interfere with the bolts holding the flange on.

So should I just get one of the -10 flanges that fit the pan and use a reducer from a -12 to a -10

If you want the maximum flow through the drain, the best option is to weld a -12an bung to the pan.

Yea i figured, I just was trying to avoid taking the oil pan off and welding one on. So just wondering if doing the reducer from -12 to -10 would affect the return flow that much?

Just wondering but would a -16 oil drain be too large if I use the -12 fitting listed above and a -10 bolt on fitting for the oil pan?

FYI, the FAQ is now sticked in Turbo System Tech section.

There will be more infomation added. What is there, is merely the start of more to come.

Might be picking up a 7 blade HX40. Few questions, anyone have any experience using the 16 cm housing and an open manifold and can tell me what spool times are. I seen someone said they had the 18 cm housing with an open manifold and was getting 20 psi by 5k rpm and JESUS thats slow.

Anyone ever consider taking the 12 cm turbine housing from the HX35 and having it machined to fit the HX40 turbine?

An 18 cm housing is huge of course its going to spool slower than something with less volume. Why dont you want to use the BEP housing?

It is very unlikely someone was getting 20ish PSI with 18cm housing and open mani @ 5K.... I had HX-40 with BEP T3 0.70AR turbine housing and was , getting like 23PSI @ 4800RPM's. Everything on the car was top shape.....

Second,if you think, that is slow 20PSI by 5K, you might reconsider and install bolt-on housing, or build a 2.3L motor and get a twin scroll set-up.. It ain't bad, you just drive a gear lower, than you used to...

I saw in the results thread, a guy with a built 2.0 had a 17 cm^2 divided T4 housing and he saw 30 psi, full boost, by 4200. Is this accurate or a typo because that spool seems pretty damned fast for a T4 housing. I have this housing on my HX40 and was going to go with a .70 A/R but if this factory housing can have this turbo spooled up that quick, I may just use it. Any input on this housing is appreciated.

I'm already currently running the 7 blade HX35 with the 12cm housing so I'm already setup for the HX40 with the 16cm housing, at least I think it should be drop in and go. Lol. If I buy the T3 bolt on housing then I have to weld a different flange on my downpipe. So I gotta spend another 300 to get it to work and I'm a total tightass with my money. Lol.

I'm not gonna build a motor for a turbo. Haha. I'd like to get a twin scroll setup, but once again, this is a toy/hobby and other things in life are more important than spending money on my car. I just don't get how all this "Holsets spool so fast" drama is getting spread if a HX40 in an open .70 T3 housing doesn't hit 30 psi till after 5k. My current turbo doesn't hit 30 psi till 4600 and even that hurts my feelings. I might just pick up the HX40 and run it and if I don't like it then sell it and swap my HX35 back on.

The reason his spool is so much lower is because hes using a twin scroll manifold. It apparently makes a huge difference even though I can't seem to find a lot of people that use that setup. I'd love to see someone throw a twin scroll manifold on a 7 blade HX35 with a 2.0 and post up results on spool times.

I'm pretty sure the same guy is the one that said he got 20 psi by 5k with the 18cm housing and open manifold. Basically everyone is saying that if you run an open manifold and divided housing or even an open manifold and open housing then you are gonna have a laggy HX40.

Try a hx40/35 hybrid.. 12cm housing

This is my exact set-up. I'm thinking of upgrading to the 16cm2 housing for the NO2 I plan on using but for the meantime, I love my set-up.

I can guarantee you that the twin scroll mani is the reason that big TS housing spools up so fast!:thumb:

What turbine housing are you using? What sort of spool times are you looking at also? I'm heavily considering that setup as I hate laggy turbos and love huge long power bands.

I run the stock HX-35 turbine housing for a Dodge Ram. It's kinda laggy. I've posted up dsmlink logs in the past so I'm sure a few holset guys would know better. I don't notice the lag much as it's not that important in the 1/4 mile and I CAN'T open it up on the street anyway.

Here is my log from my hx40/35 .. I dont notice the lag either. When your racing you dont race fom 3k rpms.. The power is up top anyways when your moving. Now if your a road racer thats a different story. The boost come on very fast 20psi at 4k and 30 by 4800. I had a bws259Ett.. This turbo pulls harder and spools faster in my opion. Im also on the stock hx35 turbine housing. Post 462 my log is post up. you can see Im flowing 60lbs at around 33psi.. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/turbo-system-tech/353498-holset-turbos-part-7-a-16.html I love my turbo

Wow and u guys r experiencing lag with the 12cm hsings. Imagine what I would have to deal with ,with this 14cm hsing with non TS mani. However u guys seem to be running very well in the 1/4 mile.:thumb:

132mph sounds mighty nice to me.:rocks:

All this talk about hx40/35 hybrid stuff makes me wonder where I get a hx40 compressor wheel from and who can machine my compressor cover?

Anyone know...

I know there was a site where you could buy the billet wheel and the hx40 compressor cover to run on an hx35 turbo, I just don't remember the name of the site :( I think the price for the 2 items was less than $300.

You can also try Goldfarb. I emailed them about a month ago and they said they had 6 blade 60mm wheels and compressor housings for $175 for the pair, which is the best deal I've found so far.

On a lighter note my 7 blade HX40 should be in my hands by the end of next week. Sooooo either my HX35 will be up for sale soon or I might not like the HX40 and sell it. Lol.

Thanks for the links! Now the decision. Haha.

Congrats to Nick (Assault187) who now has the fastest AWD spider out there (131mph)!!!! He's running an hx40. Now get that 60ft below 2 seconds (11.4 w/ a +2 sec 60ft OMG) and click off a 10 and have the fastest AND quickest.

Wow!:hellyeah: where is the link? Did he post up yet in the results? Nice!!!
