My previous owner used permatex to make a gasket for the oil return line on the turbo when he swapped to a 16g and it's leaking a quart around 250-300 miles. It's really bad leak.
I can go to a mitsubishi stealership and pick up the gaskets right? Or do I need to order them? All of my parts suppliers couldn't even get a number to order them.

Also, what can I do tomorrow to acquire a flange to fit a rubber hose and replace the stock one?
Can I thread the oil return on the turbo and just hardware store some brass fittings to a barbed fitting then do the same on the block with some rubber in between?

I think the stock line may have cracked as well, a lot of oil is escaping. I'd like to see my options, what your opinions are and if it's been done before.

Thank you

I cut my own oil drain flange gaskets out of FelPro Karropak paper. One roll costs the same as two gaskets from the dealer, and one roll has enough material to make about two hundred drain gaskets.

If you suspect the flex section of leaking, simply cut the flex out of the pipe completely and replace it with around 6" of silicone 5/8" heater hose from your local parts store. Much cheaper and more durable than a full rubber hose.

Ahoy there we have a winner. I'll get some of that gasket stuff and silicone hose it. That's my kinda fix, fast and cheap. I'll post whatever happens tomorrow thank you guys.
That gasket stuff sounds fun since I need to make gaskets for same part on my volvo.

don't worry bro i am rebuilding my 6 bolt right now and it was a pain trying to find that gasket try dsmgraveyard.com they have the return line gasket for 1.99 a piece which while you are there you might as well replace the one on the pan so both gaskets for 4.00 you really cant go wrong. hope that info helps!

Just make your own I do this to.

I had gone the route of 5/8" heater hose as well, but got to thinking later about possible degradation as it is not "oil-rated" hose. Probably a good idea to check this periodically, or use power steering hose or something rated for oil.

Yeah, if it's not made for oil it won't last long. :notgood: Change that ASAP

If you were in a pinch and had to use rubber heater hose to replace the flex section of the turbo return line just a 4 inch peice how long do you have to put silicone on before it goes? like just to get to and from work till payday?.... oh shit this is old haha!!

not sure bt I have a brand new 10an return line steelbraided with black fitings brand new from extremepsi ill sell ya.. never used.. fittings are for hx40 to stock oil pan with new gaskets.. if interested hit me up..

one hole on the oil pan was already baisicaly stripped out for the return line, but it was holding ok. but it finaly stirpped out reinstalling my hose and then i went to take the other bolt that wasnt stripped and accidently had my air ratchet on tighten and stripped the good bolt hole out too now!! I wana cry haha, so i guess i will just tighten them as much as possible and use permatex till payday or something so i can drop the pan and re tap the holes " can have no shavings course".

hesh... the stock bolts you used are 6x 1.00 mm, Get a pair of 1/4-20 bolts and run those in. may save you from having to drop and tap the pan.

I use www.JNZtuning.com for all my OEM part needs, they are really a good group, quick to get back to you and easily accessible over the phone, which has been good for me because I've had a couple of large orders. They have gotten everything right and I have yet to find somewhere that has OEM parts for a lower price.
