I had a first today. I put a perko " fake hardwood" floor in a VW trunk and made floor mats also. Its a show car. Apparently this the cool thing to do with a Jetta. I thought it was intresting. Came out well. Here are some pics. Please don't flame for not being DSM. I posted this in the hangout because its not DSM related.

Intentionally rusting a car. Boy you jerries are weird.

That's a pretty beat up show car. Looks a lot more worn than my MKIV and even my old MKIII. I think the wood would be cooler under the carpet, but the wood floor mat...meh, no thank you.

And to above, I have no idea about that rusty s***. Last time I checked my VW, a good paint job was in style.

Your right the VW's love rusting the hoods and the roofs. I don't get it either. But if They want to pay me to spray air plane stripper on there hood. Or do wood panels in the trunk. Who am I to judge I'm getting paid.

One equals two, Does the Golf with the rusty hood look like a show car no. But it is also. The one I just did was creamsicle flat orange with a gloss cream white roof and black steel wheels like that Jetta.

People who rock these cars think of them as modern day rat rods so anything goes. Not my forte, but to each there own.

I saw this done in the hatch area of a GTI once. The back seat was gone, and the entire rear 'floor' was wood laminate. I thought it looked pretty sweet.

So who thinks linoleum would rule in DSMs? I'm personally more of a marble guy myself. Or maybe granite. Granite dashboard. That would be filthy.

My oem plastic deadpedal broke a few summers back, so I traced it into some nice cedar, cut it out and sanded it nice and smooth. I think it looks tight.

OK I guess I'll never give anyone shh about having diamond plate floor mats again and kinda funny I'm trying like hell to get rid of rust in my gst and they trying to rust them
