Hello everyone, I just got a 1991 eagle talon tsi awd. The car is all stock and I have some left over money, about $1300 so I'm not sure what to get/do. My goal is about to run a 300-400HP talon. I have a list to start off with but let me know if I need to add or delete some stuff. 3" Megan racing catback exhaust w/downpipe, Rc 550cc injectors, walbro 190 lph fuel pump, aem fuel rail, 3" gm maf + translator, turbo timer, manual boost control, wideband gauges and greddy type rs bov. That's what I got so far and maybe later on upgrade to a better turbo (evo 3 16g) and fmic kit.

Start with Vfaq for free mod's and maintenance then on here there's a staged mods list..

Yes maintenance is first before anything if you have an oil leak anything get it fixed.

Why not go with bigger injectors? new ones all run pretty close in price and will give you more room for improvement in the future. At-least if your going with a 550 size injector get some Evo 560's and save your self some cash.

Well my neighbor is a certified mechanic so he's helping me out with all maintenance. And yeah the evo3 injectors would be better than the 550ccs as I later figured out but I will upgrade them much later. And I also changed the walbro 190 to a 255hp w/adjustable fpr in case I go bigger.

If I were starting out with a stock 1g again (god, I love 1G's) tuning is great.

But, by far the best/fastest 1G I have ever had the pleasure of working on was my brother's 92 Laser RS AWD

My expensive GVR4 and 90 TSi AWD have never been this fun, because I was always "playing it safe"

So, going onward, and learning from experience, this is what I would do:

-Replace knock sensor (Highly important, this is your safety net)
-Ebay rebuild kit, .20 over, 8.0:1 CR, very, very cheap.
-272 cams/springs/retainers
-2G MAS (hacked)
-big FMIC (punishment makes a good kit)
-7CM SBR Mitsu manifold
-7CM Bullseye V-Trim internally gated (ran at 27 lbs)
-Ebay externally gated o2 housing
-about a foot of exhaust total, (so the exhaust doesnt melt anything in the engine bay.
-walbro 190
-RC550's (yeah, I know, only 550's)
-ACT2600

I can personally attest to that combo being highly powerful 400-ish setup.

non-eprom ECU

this was by far the funnest car I have ever been in, it freaken screamed.

When we ran on shell 92 it was quick

When we ran on other 92, it was slow (knock sensor picked up knock, retarded timing)

I have been in 500 HP DSM's with $10,000 worth of parts, and to be quite honest, nobody is gonna push there expensite project this far.

We beat the sh*t out of this car because we didnt care, we got the parts used, or free.

it was CRAZY fast, won so many races.

Then the car was totaled by a wheel falling off a truck

car was totaled, we got $3000 from insurance, replaced bumper, fenders and hood with junkyard parts, and new radiator and fmic and kept on driving with the insurance check.

This is the only instance where i will recommend running high HP without tuning, but all maintence was done right and the knock sensor was fully funtional.

Good luck

One more thing we did: when we got the springs/retainers installed by a shop, the backcut the valves, HUGE improvement over stock, I know many forums have covered this, but my $0.02 is that this works!

Don't go huge, don't go T3/T4 (too expensive/not worth it)
