Alright before i take my car to the shop to figure this out i wanted to ask here encase someone might know.

My suspension feels pretty bad when driving, bumps are not my friend. not sure if its shot or what. when i turn at slower speeds you can hear one or two clunks.

While turning on the highway its not to bad unless i hit bumps. when i hit bumps the steering wheel will turn the other direction quickly then back the way i was turning.(at higher speeds that isn't good at all).

anyone have a clue to what this is.

It's pretty hard to diagnose suspension/steering problems without seeing them so I'm not sure you're going to be able to get a definite answer. If you don't know what you're looking at or how to determine what is wrong your best bet is to just go ahead and take it to a shop to let someone else look at it. It definitely sounds like it shouldn't be driven and needs to be fixed ASAP before you or someone else gets hurt.

Does your car have lowering springs on it? The "clunking" you hear is the struts, they are toast. That is why bumps are not your friend, the springs cannot jounce and rebound like they were designed to do. Instead they are fully compressed and every bump you hit can be felt inside the car.

You should look into the balljoints and the control arm bushings. You're chassis is tired and the rubber bushings are probably almost shot. I would look into a urethane bushing kit. It'll improve your suspension and stability drastically.

yeah i was already thinking of getting

http://www.streettunedmotorsports.com/parts/energy_suspension_dsm_master_set.htm

and some coil overs. Guess ill have to pick up some OEM stuff too.

i got my taxes so its either suspension, fuel stuff, or a TRE tranny.

suspension is bad and the tranny is on its way.

so it looks like suspension, tranny, fuel, Holset, internals in that order.

i need to hit the lottery.:banghead:

Ok so today i took off fender and bumper to replace.

i figured it would be a good time to take the wheel off and check out the suspension.

When i hit bumps it doesn't feel good at all. feels like it bottoms out. sometimes bigger bumps will make the car sway kind of like its sliding. it goes all over the place.

anyway when i checked it out this is what i found.

The upper control arm moves a lot where the left bolt is. im not sure if its suppose to do that but it didn't look right. The bolt was also loose...like i could turn it with my finger. The right bolt was MISSING A NUT. that cant be good.

So basically The control arm moves a a lot, loose bolts and one bolt missing a nut.

i can just imagine what the other 3 look like.

WOW dude your lucky, that could have been bad i would replace that check out your sway bars as well that might help.

so are the control arms suppose to move like that?

bad bushings?

or maby just cause the bolt was loose?

Would the movement of the control arms cause the car to slightly turn/bottom out when hitting bumps or would the bottom out be more with the strut.

im looking to buy a new shock/spring kit and full bushings soon.

thanks fellas
