Im undecided between megan and eibach springs. I know that the megan springs offer a 2F-1.9R inch drop and eibach is 1-1.5inch drop. For some reason i have a huge gap on my 93 tsi that i want to take care of but at the same time i want springs that can maintain a decent feel.

I would be using stock replacement shocks and struts with MUST HAVE BUMP STOPS INSTALLED.

So does anyone have any suggestions or experiences with these springs and/or pics of both combination?

Go with a shorter/stiff spring drop kit compared to a stock size/softer spring to drop your ride. It will save your struts, but then again, your going to have to get different struts to do that. So i guess, pick an overall goal first.

Go with kyb gr-2 shocks with eibach prokit and cut your bumpstop in half, you'll be good

Is that the setup that you have? I like the stance of of your lazer btw

I want a suspension set up thats going to get a good 60ft times but at the same time i want the gap to be reduced to about 2 fingers.

If i get megan than im afraid is going to be too low and if i get the eibachs pro-kit then im sure ride quality is going to be nice but the height is not.

just torn.

Thanks, that suspension setup was kyb agx's/eibach sportline springs,it dropped my laser about 2" but it was to stiff for DD, I am ruuning gr-2 /progress technology springs now, it drops 1.3" but handles and feels great, but gr2/prokits should be good too.

So, you think that the pro kit should be good for 1.3-1.5 inch drop? I would very satisfied with that. Also the gr2's are inexpensive so im definately going with that.

Eibach Pro Kit + KYB AGX is a very popular choice for an inexpensive setup. The ride is pretty firm, but you get about 1.5" drop and damper adjustability (although not very linear...you get what you pay for). You'll get varying opinions of course, but I've run this combo for three years and the car handles great.

Unless you spend quite a bit of $$$, don't expect linear damper adjustment and a soft ride.

The kyb gr-2s are not meant to be used with lowering springs. They are meant to be a stock replacement used at stock height. If you want to lower your car look for agxs or something more expensive such as konis.

The eibach prokits drops 1" f & b. Gr-2 shocks are great with any lowering spring that is not passed 1.5" drop, that setup will improve your 60ft times, its better than stock.

Thanks for the response, My friend has gr2 on Tein springs with a 2 inch drop and it rides very well. He did cut the bump stops to a specified length but nevertheless it sits way too low for me.

Im going to try the eibach pro kit with gr2 and see how i like it.

I don't know how those can ride well...
Tein springs for DSM's have a LOWER spring rate than factory!

The megan's have a higher spring rate than Eibach.

Dont get me wrong they are stiff but for some reason it rode better than my friends sportline/agx combo, Its way too bouncy.

I believe its about cutting the bump stops correctly to avoid bottoming out so the ride quality is stiff but streetable enough.

good luck trying to find 1G awd eibach prokit they discontinued them last year....been trying to get a set for myself... eibach told me that they werent selling enough to continue making them

I'm looking for Poly bump stops... Nobody has them tho.

I find that hard to believe. OMG What are the TEIN spring rates? The stock springs are very soft and would be shocked if any aftermarket spring...especially from TEIN was softer.

i have megans and agx's and it very bouncy. deff dont recomend megan to bouncy. evne when i set the damper on 1 on the agx's!:thumb:

1 is softer.. higher up is stiffer..
My megans were not bouncy at all with my Koni YELLOWS.

You can search for it and get the info. I don't save each and every link/url. They are in fact lower spring rate than factory.

It's you making the claim, not I. I'm just asking you to validate your claim in this thread by giving us a precise number. That's what this forum is for. It helps for future searches too. No need to give me an attitude. :|

-edit-

I did a quick search any way and to my great surprise, my skepticism was not unfounded.

* Spring Rate: 213 lbs/in Front - 179 lbs/in Rear
* 1.2 Inch Drop (FR) & 1.6 Inch Drop (RR)

Part no. SKR80-AUB00

Fits: 90-94 Eclipse AWD turbo

BTW, that is HIGHER than stock. Factory spring rate for a 1G AWD is 146/146 (F/R) according to my FSM.
It made no sense whatsoever for TEIN to build springs that were softer than stock.
