Holy crap.... this looks amazing...

Has anyone (other than the guy in the picture) done this?! This makes the front end of the 1gA look freakin' epic.

Supposedly the bumper didn't need to be touched, only the hood and fenders.

I assume the cutouts for the pop-ups in the hood needs to be welded, but what else? Anyone know?

Sexy... :sneaky:

WOW! Simply amazing! :thumb::thumb:

I would imagine the entire popup assembly is removed and then the s13 lights are custom fitted with brackets. Then the hood would beed to be filled in the corners along with the fenders. I could/would probably do this if I could get some more pics...

There's a guy on Talk in mid-conversion.

I read through a guys thread not too long ago where he is doing this, It seems like quite a bit of work, but looks awesome, my problem with the pop up lights on 1gs is the huge clear lenses under them, they look like they should be the lights, and not the ones that pop up.

The guy who owns that car is/was on this forum. He had to put quite a bit of time into the front fenders too.

Looks like it would be easier to start with a 1GB hood and the fenders could be done from either with about the same amount of work. If he did it using fiberglass to creat the rest of the fenders, it would be fairly quick and easy. If it is steel, I could see it being a bit more time consuming. But, anybody with a bit of body work experience could do this if they wanted to take a bit of time. Grill would be easier to use universal billet grill material, and would probably look just as good with less work.

Not sure that I like it as much as a regular 1GB with projectors.

^ I agree. Just a little bit of fiberglass and you can do anything. Anyone want to send me a fender and some s13 headlights so I can do this? I'll make a write-up :sneaky:

that looks amazing, much better than pop-ups in my opinion. I love that look. wish i had done that to my 1g and I might have thought a little longer about selling it LOL

Darkstartsi is the owners name.

he welded the 1Ga bonnet to the headlight covers adn messed with the fender a bit, apparently the lights wiring were pretty easy.

i plan on copying him in the near future.

yep i folowed this thread start to finish, welded his head light covers to the hood, made new brackets for the headlights, had to widen the fender and notch it a little more and trim the hood to fit the lights flush. Amazing work, im sure if he charged to do this he would make bank!

Thanks Steve91 but they didn't show up for me either. Plus dsmtalk always rejects my request for membership too who knows why :confused: but anyways I will order up some headlights in a couple of weeks and start my conversion. I will create a write-up with lots of pictures as I already like to document all my work (see my blog LOL). This conversion is just crazy sick and will have a one-of-a-kind, but in white :D
