it looks nice. i thought about painting my car also....... for doing it yourself, how much did it cost?

thx for the complement... and well i have quite a bit of money into this paint job, because i took the car back down to sheet metal, so then i had to buy etching acid, etching primer, and blocking primer, and not to mention that its and Audi paint color, so all and all i have about 900 warped up into it. If your just repainting, shouldn't cost nearly this much

wow that looks BA dude! props!

Thx dude, appreciate the complements, i got a lot of time into it, making to prefect

If I bring my car to Pitt, wanna paint it? (for a fee that is of course)

haha thanks...

dude bring your car to Pitt, and im sure we could work out a deal...

i need to get some more pictures, but you really cant tell that the bubble is all black, and i have the two black stripes from the headlights to the A-piller

car looks amazing, about how long in time wise would you say that took?

Looks great! Any better quality pictures?

Will you paint mine, I'm in Greensburg.

well its really hard for me to give a time frame, because of how much extra work i have done to prep the body, because i deleted the wing, side skirt, and welding and plugging all the holes took a lot of time, + i have been working on the whole car in general, with a fuse box relocation, 6 bolt swap, to mention a few.

If were just talking about painting, wet sanding and buffing 3 times, all of this took me a course of a week to complete, working on it at night and weekends..

thx man... appreciate the compliment! my friend with a nice camera is supposed to be coming over and taking better pictures sometime this week, so ill post them up once i have them.

I mean if your serious about painting your car, we can def work out a deal. My project is finally stating to come to a close. I have a few other side jobs to finish, but lets talk.... if nothing else def should at least hang out

I'm on my phone and the snow kinda washes out the color a bit, but what color is that? Almost a charcoal grey/black? Looks nice!

Did you do the jambs and engine bay etc? Also, are you replacing all those seals and trim pieces around the windows? If those pieces are still available.

What did you do as far as prep in areas that may have had rust like the frame rails? Or did you not go under that far?

I do want to do my car, but not until I'm ready to strip it to the bones. I got a cheap spray gun to start learning on some less visible pieces like suspension. I think I'm going to give that a try in the spring.

The color is called "Nimbus Grey" its an Audi paint color.... what you cant see from the pictures and because of the snow, is the pearl in it.. It has green and white and red pearl in it, it really looks good in person.

to answer your question in general is yes, yes, yea, and yes.. haha

The car was striped down to bare bones, really cant tell in the pictures but all the glass is removed, all interior, and the engine remove (because i was doing a 6-bolt swap anyways)

I repainted the engine bay base coat/clear with black, the under side of the hood is also black.

The door jambs are two tone also, along with the rear hatch jamb.

The weather striping, two of the pieces were still in really good shape, i just scuffed them up and used marhyde satin finish.. the other two are really rough, and i need to buy them, but from the dealer they are 75 each, and rather put the money else where right now.. eventually i will buy them but you know how it is.
