Its gonna be slow... LOL

Good luck man.. this is going to be nasty..I recommend getting the o2 housing that is recirced.. the sound of the turbo is better than a huge exhaust leak..

Ehh, I don't know about that. I had an open dump with a stock exhaust and it was hella sleeper. Once you get above 4 rpms that thing sounds like a dragon roaring. I got mad compliments on it for the solid 2 months I had it with a stock exhaust.

Now I have a 3" exhaust with the dump tube. I have to boost hard to hear it now :ohdamn:

Also, I heard ARP Head studs reduce oil flow thru the galleys. A few people started doing that mod to the galleys. Will it affect oil flow too much with ARP studs?

I agree with viper on having the o2 recirculated. I guess it all depends on the person though. Beautiful car and good luck with the build.

Hey Travis, If you plan to keep it FWD for a while, I'd also invest in some sort of limited slip diff. Or, you could always AWD swap it now and get traction with that 400 WHP. ;) I can tell you that when I was FWD with 400 HP, I could blow the tires off until 80 mph, and that was with a Quaife.

Comon travis.. You have so much help with doing the AWD swap.. Paul has done it. Im sure it will be semi easy with someone who has actually done it.. I think you need to add to the list..

BF goodies D.Rs LOL...

I had a line on a AWD donor car but the guy sold it before I could get my hands on it...I know paul said he'd help me with the swap, I just need to locate the parts to do it...

x2

FWD with power is no fun even on hwy pulls

Thats why i did the AWD swap

Shit christian couldn't even get traction at the shootout with the 16g.. It was a thousand degrees and his tires were melting.. He didn't even spray his NAWZZ LOL...

That '98 GSX in Lansing? Tyler and I bought it. I need the rear subframe and he wants the shell for the shop. But I could get the rest of the AWD swap related stuff from the car for you if you think you're going to do it anytime soon.

If I could get most of everything soon I'll swap it this winter :D...send me a pm paul

That should only matter when you go and do the 1g block and 2g head. The reason behind that is because the 1g has 12mm studs where as the 2g has 11mm. It couldn't hurt though to open it up a little more but isn't necessary since they are still stock size.

The trans has the rip grip LSD insert...but I do plan on AWD swapping it sooner or later

I wouldn't trust the insert for anything. Some people seem to be fine with them but it's not worth a new transmission if it fails. Either AWD swap like you said, or get a nice LSD.

Man Travis me and you and the DSM Graveyard are going to have a super busy winter :) .... im sure you will be helping me and ill be helping you. You should get in with me and austin and get a roll cage put in we called and priced them out at street and strip today lmk. see you at the party tonight bro

Ya know, they might even give you guys a "group buy" type rate if there's 2 or 3 of you guys getting them done. It would be easy to just make 2 or 3 of every piece. Worth a shot at least. I might even head down there and give Tyler a hand when he's doing yours.

Like the guys are saying, 400+whp is so much better in awd form (another swapper here!). I thought the fwd setup was alright, until I had awd & found it does everything better, not just accelerating off the line.

List looks pretty descent but a couple things I'd look at, not really a fan of the BC stuff, its alright on a budget but for a little more you can get much better stuff. Kelford & GSC seem to make a great product but their fairly pricy compared to BC but there's always FP. Their priced about the middle & I'd take them over BC anyday. For the clutch, may want to look into the Fidanza 4.3. The 3.2 would probably be fine for a fwd setup but with the traction the awd delivers, probably should go to the 4.3 for that power level. Also I like the Xact flywheels, vs the super light weight ones (if thats what your looking at, ~12lbs vs ~7lbs). The aluminum flywheels can have driveability issues.

I was thinking the same thing about the clutch now that I'm going AWD...I got a killer deal on the fidanza flywheel though, as for the cams FP makes some pretty decent stuff so I'll probably try to find a nice set of used FP cams...

Wow sick man! Good luck doing a 400whp build also but trying to keep it fwd haha, see how long that lasts before I think on swapping. I'm at 325whp. Your 2g is one of the nicest I've seen, good job!!!!!!!:hellyeah:
